Very confused about Memory Maker.

memory maker includes everyone in your group - one purhcase per package is all you need. It should be connected to all your bands, although according to the CM at TOT - only the MAIN person on your account's magic band will get a ride video attached to it.

we had 4 day park hoppers + 1 single day and we had a TON of pictures. well worth it

Ride photos & videos are quirky. Everyone in the group who is linked to you will get their photo taken, even if the main MM owner is not with them on the ride. BUT you can only see those particular pictures & videos through the MM purchaser's login. For instance, if you have 2 rooms and a total of 3 adults all with MDE accounts and you're all linked together, any one of those adults can log in to MDE and see any photos taken by photopass photographers of anyone in your party. Also, every time anyone in your party rides a ride with photos, those are captured too, but only the adult who purchased the MM sees those pictures through their login.

At least that's how it worked in October, but on some question threads, it looks like people are starting to see their ride photos even if they didn't pre-purchase MM. (Which makes sense because if you can't see the pictures, you can't be tempted to buy the pictures!)

Don't mean to hijack the original post, but I am wondering if it's my husband, our 2 kids and my mom and we are offsite (no mb until we buy one/them) will we just need 1 band for the video rides? We will be using rider swap some so will my husband and I each need one or can we swap the magic band? I am condisering getting them for everyone, to lessen any complications but I doubt my son will actually wear it. Thanks for any help you can provide!

So, to be clear....I still have trouble wrapping my head around this one. If I do not pre-buy memory maker, I can still see all photos on MDE? And the old photopass photographers? Will I be able to see those too? TIA!

What's the benefit or need for buying the extended time to view pictures online? How much does the extended time cost, and can you buy it at any time? Like if I'm at day 29 and realize there's no way I'm going to have a chance to download my pictures by the next day, can I extend my online viewing time then?

Okay, I have a question. We will have 2 rooms. (one is myself, DH & DS) the other is my (DD & her husband) We have 2 different MDE accounts. I want my DD and son in law to be able to get pictures when they are not with us, including ride photos, so this is possible if we link them to me, correct? (I will purchase MM) But, I don't want my DD to be able to accidently change my FPs selections, will she be able to do that, if she is linked to my MDE?

Also, is MM photographers at the waterparks, (this is one of the main reasons I want it (I don't want to take a camera to the WPs)

Free MM has been a perk included with a package discount in the past, but I would not count on it coming up again.

My trip to Walt Disney World is fast approaching, my party and I are very excited. I recently became curious about Memory Maker, and I have a few questions for those who have used it. Any help is appreciated:
1. Will Photopass Photographers use my personal camera if I request they take a picture, even if I dont purchase Memory Maker?
2. How does Memory Maker work at Character Dining? Ive heard a Photographer takes pictures of you while you're eating?
3. What is the deal with the Ride/Attraction pictures?
4. What was your personal opinion on Memory Maker?

1.Yes, absolutely. It's usually a nearby CM who will take your camera and do photos for you.
2. There are usually photo spots that you go to prior to eating....you get the photo taken and then you are seated. Evidently, there are some meals where the MM photographers are wandering within the restaurant.
3. The ride photo mechanism picks up the signal from your MB and automatically grabs it and stores the photo in your MM account.
4. I like it....for certain trips. I don't get it when it's just me. But, for instance, I'm heading to WDW in May. I'm going with my dd, 21, and her best friend from high school (they have been apart for two years!). The third girl from high school is now at WDW working in the DCP...so they'll all meet up and hang together. I truly don't want to traipse along behind them...so having MM is a life saver. They can get all the photos they want. Then they can view them on MDE.

Yes, but you have to link it first. If you purchase it in advance, you can't access any photos taken for three days after you buy it. But, if you pay full price for it, your photos are immediate! You will see the photographers, they haven't changed at all.

I saw an addtl discount once, when it first came out. Haven't seen any addtl discount since then, other than the advance pay option.

As long as you are all listed on the MDE, all photos will be linked. I was in WDW in Nov..traveling solo. But I had friends staying in various other resorts. One of them had purchased MM since his niece was on her first WDW trip. He linked me to his MDE and he was on mine. I was able to get photos for the entire trip. Very easy. FP+ choices can't be changed unless you go into the actual FP+ area. There really wouldn't be any reason for her to even go into the account.

Tink above suggests otherwise, so i'm not sure, but i think if you are Family and Friends in MDE (which you must be in order to share memory maker) then you are able to see and change FPs. They are in different areas of MDE, but if shes rearranging her own FPs, it would be possible to change yours.

I know people do Memory Maker shares (strangers traveling at the same time link up to save money on MM) i would think shared plans would be a concern in those situations as well. Perhaps a search for MM shares would reveal how they handle it.

So you can view the pictures on the MDE? I had it last May and nothing would show up on my MDE app on my phone. We had to go into the Memory Maker website from the laptop to view everyting. That would be great if we can all view them from the MDE app.
