I think they're missing the point...people are deleting them by copying the message, discarding the old bottle, opening a new bottle, removing whatever message, and sending it off. There should be a way to prevent that...even if it means no longer being able to copy the message.

I think you guys are freaking out about it. The site has had some problems the past few days. If you read their blog, you'd see that they said some people's messages were getting lost, depending on what site (regular or the IP address site they gave) you were using while they were moving servers.

No one was deleting your messages. It was from the new server merging.

Umm, considering that people are getting bottles in which DISers KNOW they've added a response to it...and those DIS messages are "mysteriously" being deleted from the message even though the bottle keeps being sent out with new messages, I don't think we're freaking out about it.

You can't delete the person's messages. You can only add on to them. Either you're not scrolling down all the way to see all the messages or you are closing the window before the bottle completely disappears into the ocean.

And for those that aren't getting bottles, they tend to lag late in the morning and late in the evening. The best time to receive bottles is in the morning, at lunch, and the afternoon.

The way they can do it is to copy the message, discard the bottle, make up a new bottle and paste the new message onto it and delete whichever messages they like. I've done it myself when I want to leave off a perverted post but still wanted the rest of the message to survive.

I'll give you SOME message that have possibly been deleted. BUT, as it's been pointed out several times...all a person has to do is copy the message, and resend it through a new bottle and delete any response they want. In fact, I've done that with messages that have been fun, but had a couple inappropriate comments (and I mean not at all family friendly). We know there are people who cannot stand DIS related messages. It's not at all "unsafe" to believe that there ARE people out there who can and do delete things they don't like. There's nothing "unbelievable" about that scenario.
