I am a new member to DVC...I have already planned my vacation for next june for BWV/VWL. However in the future I would like to do one of the beach resorts....which is better--Vero or Hilton Head? We (me and my SO, both under 30) love South Carolina, but were just wondering which resort had more to offer, or if one was significantly nicer than the other.

Both have a lot to offer. VB is on the beach, HH is a mile to the ocean- but the resort itself sits on a small island in Broad Creek- and you can watch dolphin and otters right behind the resort.

The theming is a little different at the resorts, but both invite relaxation.

The beach at HH is very wide with a gentle drop into the ocean and is beautiful white sand.

The beach at VB has a steeper drop and is much narrower, but has an active trurtle watch program, which is very interesting. (Turtles nest at HH also- but not as actively).

I don't think you can go wrong with either resort. If you're in the winter months- HH may be too cool to enjoy being outside as the temps can be quite cool- but from late March thru October the weather is wonderful. VB is nice year round.

No wrong choice here- both are great. Enjoy!

Availability and timing might play into it, my understanding is that HH is hard to get in during the summer. It kind of makes sense, HH owners wanting to use thier own resort would tend to choose summer months.

I'm sure others would have more exerience er: HH availability to share....

Both are great resorts and both are fairly laid back and relaxing destinations. If you just want a quick break tapped onto a WDW vacation I would opt for Vero as it is only a couple of hours drive. If I was visiting WDW from the North East I would use HH as a break on the way home and stop 3 or 4 days, breaking the journey.

Vero is warmer all year round and has a much longer season that you could consider beach weather, HH is a more self contained and vibrant resort. The beach IMHO is better at HH, but at Vero it is on your doorstep and you can easily switch between beach and main pool. HH has a great facility in the beach house and a great slide but IMHO Vero gets the vote for access to the beach.

I think Vero struggles to be considered a destination in it's own right , whereas HH could easily be used as a primary destination for a whole vacation.

Golf is definately better at HH

IMHO there is nothing to choose between the facilities of either resort, I would base my choice more on how it fits in with my other holiday plans.
