Vero or HH on cash

We considering our first trip to either Vero or HH in later spring. Unfortunately, we are low on points and don't want to borrow into next year (and lose our next year trip to WDW).

Can you book either of these hotels with cash? If so, do you go through Member Services? Do you get a Member Discount? Has anyone been successful finding any other bargains on these locations?

I just booked 1 nt. on points & 1 nt. cash for June. MS quoted $225/night, then realized they forgot my DVC discount! The room went down to $168 + tax.

But no cash discount was avail at VB for our dates in May. Best answer re: DVC discount is "be sure to ask - it can't hurt!"

We just booked HH with member cash off-season. ALthough it wasn't spring, it also wasn't summer. For a 1 BR, we're paying $121/night. We could book on points, but at that price, we figured we'd be just as well off with the cash.
