Hi!
We just bought into DVc and I'm already planning away!

Next year I will be turning 30 :scared: We always go to WDW week before Thanksgiving. My B-day is Nov.22nd, next year Thanksgiving falls on the 24th. I am trying to decide if after a week at WDW if we should spend Thanksgiving at Vero or HH. Or do we just stay at WDW and just go later in the week. We have been to Vero before and loved it. I should also add we hate crowds so if e do stay at WDW for Thanksgiving we wouldn't go into the parks that week end.

Any experiences or advice would be appreciated. I am interested in hearing where/what you ate for Thanksgiving, if it was crowded where you were, were there enough activities if the weather was bad? What you liked about where you were? Were there X-mas decorations at either Vero or HH?
TIA

The Christmas decorations were being put up at HH when we were there Thanksgiving weekend. The Lodge was already decked out when we arrived but the other decorations kept appearing from day to day. It's not like being at WDW when you wake up one morning and the entire resort is decorated.

I don't know how to post a pic but if you send me your email address I'd be happy to send you one of the HH Lodge with decorations.

Pix are on the way!

I'm always happy to help another member out as so many helped me as I have been learning the system it's nice to be able to return the favor!

My family just spent last week at Hilton Head and we loved it! We usually go the week before the holiday or the week and things are fairly quiet. The holiay week was filled with activities and lots of happy families. The resort can provide a meal on the holiday if you so desire (it was about $110 for a family of 4). Since we are still in Phase 2 of the South Beach Diet, I made an alternative meal in our villa but next year I would definitely consider getting the prepared meal as those frying turkeys smelled divine!

There is a "turkey bowl" on T-day at the beach house and my teen son and teen brother had a ball. They had several other kid and teen activities that my guys enjoyed participating in as well. Not to mention, we had a great DIS meet at the beach house one night.

I've never been to Vero (it's on our list though) but I can't imagine spending this week anywhere else. We plan to go back again at the same time next year.

Lisa,

Did you happen to take any pix?

Thanks,

Sorry I don't have pics. It was pretty cold on Thursday so I dropped my guys off. I wish I would have gotten some though because they had a blast!

Lisa -- it WAS a fun week, wasn't it? I really enjoyed getting to meet you (and so many others!) on Wednesday night!! My son had a blast playing football with your son and brother. How did that time go by so quickly????

I would definately pick HH for Thanksgiving -- actually I have three times already and loved every minute of it!

Lisa -- Hi there! I met you briefly at the DIS meet before you scooted off. Glad to hear you had a lot of fun last week.

Dottie - It was great seeing you again and doing dinner. Glad your home safely from dropping your daughter off. Tell Dh to take care! Oh, I'm sending you a PM too.

We just enjoyed our first trip to HHI. We had to be home for Thanksgiving Dinner so unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the Thanksgiving Day activities. I would definitely vote for HHI Thanksgiving Week.
