Could someone give me the low down on these rooms? This would not be an ocean view, so what do you see, the pool? Are there rooms at the front of the inn? Besides what is in the guidebook, what can you tell me? I have stayed in a one bedroom before and with the next trip, friends of ours will be staying in an Inn Room and they have questions I can't answer.

Thanks,
Kelly

They are all on the back side of the resort overlooking some parking, check in and the main road. Take an ocean view room if you can and ask for 3rd floor or higher.

Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I'm a little confused as to the room types. The web site just lists Inn Ocean View. is there a non-ocean view Inn room as well? Where are the Inn rooms located in relation to the studios? The points seem to be the same.

Thank you!

The Inn has both Ocean View rooms and Non-Ocean View rooms. The Ocean View gives you a view of the ocean, generally if you are on the third floor or above. The Non-Ocean view rooms look toward the highway in front of the hotel, or the parking areas. They shouldn't be noisey but you don't get to see the water or the sunrise.

If I were getting a Non-Ocean view room, I'd ask for top or high floor, and NOT next to the Laundry Room.

We have stayed at a non Ocean View inn room at VB. It was on the third floor and overlooked the road/parking area. Actually what we saw was lots of trees and had a lovely sunet view towards the lake. The view of the lobby was pretty nice too.

Since we spent very little time in the room it was lovely and used less points too!

Ocean View Inn Room is wonderful. See if you can get that. We were on the third floor and loved it. Being from an area that does not have an ocean near by, we desert rats could not get enough of that lovely view.

Thanks for the info! I was using the DVC point calculator on the DIS & it didn't have all of those room categories. I wouldn't want to pay the same amount for ocean view as non-ocean view!

I think all the rooms at VB are gorgeous. We did stay in an Ocean View room in the Inn section. The view is particularly lovely! I come from the "Great Lakes" state but it's still nothing like being on ocean front property. Vero is a wonderful vacation...hope you have a blast! :)

Thanks everyone!

It is pretty much just a standard room, right?

I'm not sure I agree. They are essentially a studio. The best I can describe them is like the studios at BW and WL except with 2 queen beds instead of a queen plus a pull out full. To me they are better than the studios at VB because of location and view. We also enjoy the 2 queens over the pull out. You can go to the Disney Vacation Club website and pull up the floor plans if you need to.

We've stayed in Oceanview Inn Rooms and absolutely loved them. This past May we took a spur-of-the-moment trip and had a Gardenview Room. It was just fine--less points and we didn't spend that much time in the room anyway. It just depends what you want. We wanted a less-expensive trip (points and $$) so that was the way to go then. When we wanted an ocean view, we walked down to the boardwalk or went to the Green Cabin room. ;)

I haven't stayed in a Garden View Inn Room but I have seen the similar view from the 4th floor laundry room. Now, the ocean view is spectacular but GV isn't just looking at the highway. You are looking out across toward the Indian River and, as mentioned, can catch some beautiful sunsets. I love the ocean view but GV is good, too.

I also agree with Dean. These aren't just "hotel rooms". They really are pretty much a studio with all the same amenities. They are just located in the "Inn" building. The rooms also tend to vary in size and shape as they follow the contours of the building itself.

The parking lot on the garden side isn't a big expansive sea of cars, most parking is in garages under the villas and under the Inn. Across highway A1A is a park/woods area with tennis courts, basketball hoops, and a lake/pond with a fountain spraying up. There is also a maintence/support building across the street where they do laundry, etc. and use glolfcart style vehicles to drive through the tunnel under A1A. There are plenty of trees and foldage, and you'll probably have a view of the sunset. Our balconey didn't have an ocean view, but we actually had side windows that did. Enjoy your stay. It is an option to save some points and stretch out the vacation a bit.

We stayed in a Garden View room a couple years ago and had a great view. We were right on the corner of the building and had a view of the grounds and a partial view of the ocean. The Inn rooms are pretty similar to the studios at OKW. They have 2 queen beds and a kitchenette.

We just got back from VB about an hour ago! It was a great trip! Our Inn Room was an ocean view and I believe it was worth the extra points; however, if you only have points for a Gardenview, I feel sure the room will be fine. It seems that a post several months ago listed the laundry room balcony as the best place to view the sunrise - so it seems like there isn't a bad room in the inn! We've stayed in the Inn rooms twice as we were told by our guide that the inn rooms have better views than the studios since you can get up to the fourth floor. Last year we had a really spacious room with a large balcony facing the ocean. Our room this time (2424) was rather small and the balcony was tiny - but hey, we were in Florida and on the beach - so who cares;)

laundry room balcony as the best place to view the sunrise

;) You catch the SUNSET from the laundry room. Gotta hit the beach or get an oceanview room to see the SUNRISE.

Glad to hear you had a great trip Gracelrm. I agree that even with varying balcony sizes and room configurations....I haven't had a "bad" room yet. :)

PamOKW - thanks for the correction. I make it a habit to NEVER watch a sunrise on vacation. I have to get up before the sun's up everyday for work so I try to sleep in on vacation. I guess if I had given it any thought though, I'd could have figured out that the sun wouldn't be coming up on that side of the building!!!!! See what a few days off of work does to your brain:p

Aaah! You're missing the highlight of my Vero trips! I love watching the sunrise over the ocean....a lot more fun than watching the sunrise over the train tracks. ;)
