Going on the Magic next Jan what is Vero like in Jan? Pool heated? Things to do? 2 days enough or 3?

We just were at Vero from Jan. 15-17. The ocean was too cold to swim in, the pool was a bit cool, but once you were in, it was OK.

First day, we drove down to Vero Beach, they had a cute little shopping street there with a very good restaurant, the Lemon Tree.

McKee Botanical Garden was very nice. Second day we mostly spent at the pool, walking on the beach and relaxing.

We usually go in January, and it can be cool, but beautiful. Last trip was 1/7 - 1/10/11, and it was 70-ish during the day so we were able to use the pool quite a bit. Tried the water slide for the first time and it was great! Even my 2 yr old granddaughter loved it (and we were amazed...she seemed pretty little, and it seemed pretty big, but she had a float suit and it worked out well!) We used to spend just a couple days there, but my DH really thought we never spent enough time there so this trip we did 3 nights and it was really relaxing. We enjoy shopping at Hale Grove nearby, visiting the MCLarty Museum, lunching at Capt'n Hirams, etc. There are lots of activities on site, too. Of course, the day we left it got cold and rainy so I'm glad we were there on the NICE days. But in general it's still nice there, even in January. Enjoy!;)
