We are taking a short cruise in February out of Fort Lauderdale. We then are planning to drive up to WDW for a few days. At first I was thinking we could drive up the coast, spend the night at Vero, then the next morning continue on to WDW. But because this past winter was so cold I am thinking maybe it's not worth it to spend the night, as it might be too cool to enjoy the pool and beach. Wondering if we should drive up, have lunch there, check out the resort (we've never stayed there), then be at WDW by dinner time.

Is there a good spot for lunch there? Would there be a problem with us just spending a couple of hours there, checking out the resort? Or do you think we should just chance the weather and spend the night?

Thanks!

Whether to gamble with the weather in February or not is only a decision you can make obviously, but I can confirm that it's definitely fine to stop off for a few hours for visit - done the very same thing twice before and it's a lovely way to get a peek at the resort :)

The Green Cabin in the resort is my favorite lunch location. It has outdoor seating, burgers, sandwiches and appetizers etc .....oh.... and good cocktails . There also is a restaurant called Shutters. I doesn't look over the water but is pretty good.

It is really a beautiful resort. My daughter, her BFF and my MIL, I are staying for one night this week! We will get there early enjoy the pool/ocean, eat at Green Cabin, have place to call home for the night and enjoy the pool/ocean and go back to the in laws.

As far a Feb. goes, it is hit and miss. We have gone for 3 Christmas' and in Feb. and had good weather but I know we were just lucky. I figured at the very least there is a hot tub, and walks on the beach. There is a lot of activities for kids too.

I think it is worth checking out. My kids are teens now and love this resort more than Disney now.:beach:

Thank you both for the info. I still have a week to decide so I think I will do some reading up on the resort in the meantime.
