Vero Bike path

Is there a bike path at Vero Beach? :confused3

There isn't much of a bike path at Vero...at least nothing like there is at Hilton Head. Vero Beach is pretty far removed from "civilization". There isn't much right around the resort, even to get to with a bike. There is a path that goes from the resort, under A1A to the other side where there is a parking lot and some woods, but that's about it. (Originally they were going to build more units on that side of the highway but they never did.)

There is a sidewalk that runs down A1A that people use for biking, running, etc.

If you're looking for a nice, long bike ride, from the resort go through the tunnel to get to the other side of A1A, turn North. Follow the sidewalk for about 3.5 miles. Right before the land narrows and becomes basically causeway, you'll see a small dirt type road to the left that goes to a small park. This is named Jungle Trail. You can follow that road South. It comes out somewhere around 510, not too far from Disney. I've seen bikers and joggers on that road.

If you want to continue, when the road comes to 510, just proceed straight across. It follows the causeway South for about another mile, then becomes paved road and curves East. Continue following it and you'll get to A1A. Turn North and ride the sidewalk back toward Disney.

It looks on google earth like you can follow the jungle trail all the way to Sebastien inlet state park. Has anyone done this. Any idea how far? TIA

It is my understanding that you can bike the Jungle trail all the way to Pelican Island Park (8 miles). I have to try it out next time there and get some photos. I just so caught up with the beach and ocean I forget about the bike trail. Next time for sure.

I know you've been to VB before, but unsure if you're aware of the property accross the street. The is where the lake, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer field and the Jungle trail is found. You just take the tunnel under the highway. They have stairs, and ramps for bikes to get over there. :thumbsup2
