Debating about going here next year instead of WDW. I was wondering what other people who have gone to this resort have thought about. I am thinking I will be driving down so I will not have to rent a car there. What are the pros and cons of this resort?

We did a short stay at VB several years ago and did not care for it. We like the warmer water of the Gulf and the wider, expansive beaches of the Gulf. The beach was very shallow and there was a sharp dropoff in the water. We had an Inn Room and it was very nice. Dining was nice, but we just did not care for that beach.

When I bought DVC, my intention was to spend a few days at Vero Beach every winter. I bought extra points just for that purpose. Guess what? My Dear Wife hates it. She just doesn't like the beach. And we love the Atlantic coast.

But she loves Hilton Head and the resort is a mile from the beach. Go figure.

We've enjoyed our stays at VB. It's quiet and relaxing. The pool is nice. The town of Vero Beach is about 10 minutes south.....also quiet and relaxing. I guess it depends what you're looking for. It's a very different vacation than WDW.

We love VB. It is a great place to go to unwind after spending time at WDW. We have taken our grandchildren there when they were young. They have great pool activities, craft projects, camp fires, and, of course, the beach. There is not much for teens, however. We will be there in a couple of weeks for 3 nights after spending 5 days at Food & Wine. My suggestion is to go there for a few days to check it out. Or, you can drive over for the day from WDW. It is a little under 100 miles one way.

We love Vero Beach. One of the best beach resorts I have been to.
I guess you haven't been to my other timeshare on the Gulf Coast. We were just there for a week in August and are going back in October for another week.

Are we allowed to pool hop to Vero Beach? (If dvc member and staying on points at wdw)

It's a long drive to and from WDW, probably close to two hours. A key card from vero is required to get in the pools. So I doubt it but you can always drive over for a look at the resort and just slip into pool when someone else enters. It tends to get busy and shade is a premium so I always get there early to save a table with umbrella.

We love Vero. It's one of our home resorts. My husband goes there every year in March to use as a base for spring training baseball on the Atlantic side of Florida. We also go there for a couple of days if we're doing a cruise out of Port Caniveral. One year we got the three bedroom ocean front villa for three nights before a cruise. There were six of us. We loved it.

The pool is lively with lots of games and music. There is a good slide, fitness center, mini golf, bikes, boards to rent for ocean, tennis, fires in the evening, a great bar with outside porch overlooking ocean and the restaurants are good. Also they take tables in wonderland card.

The beach has lots of turtle nests which are always marked off. And if you are on the ocean you are asked to keep your curtains shut if you have lights on so as not to bother them. The beach is broad and pretty flat and a great place for a long walk.

There are some nice restaurants in vero beach itself that we like. And a Catholic Church a few miles away for Sunday mass.

I have stayed there three times, twice for some R&R combining with a disney vacation. The other trip was a week long trip with another couple in a 2br. It was quiet and serene, but we had bad weather for most of the week, so we were kind of bored. We wanted a relaxing sit by the pool/sit on the beach kind of vacation, and we didn't get it. We made the best of it, but it wasn't a place I would want to go again when weather is not cooperative.

We have only been once for three nights. In addition to Vero, we stayed at WDW 5 nights. How about splitting your stay to get a taste of it. We enjoyed it and can't wait to go back. We would like to stay a minimum of 4 nights next time. We have also stayed at HH twice and love HH also. We wish we could travel more and visit each one (VB, HH WDW) every year. You gotta try everything once. We keep saying we are going to try a beach on the gulf coast too but have not had the chance yet.

Vero Beach is what sold my husband on DVC. We absolutely love it there. We find it very relaxing and hardly leave the resort at all.

We use our membership twice a year and go to WDW for one stay and alternate between HH and Vero for the other stay. Vero is definitely a true vacation of relaxing andenjoying doing nothing. The community around offers just enough to stay busy if you get restless. I would recommend going at least once and if it is to leisurely for you the worse that has happened is you stay at a 5 star resort with great food and accommodations.
