We are taking our first Orlando Non-DVC trip next week. We are thinking about driving over to VB and checking out the resort for future stays and hanging out at the beach for the day. I know we can't use the pool because we aren't staying at a DVC resort that week. Our kids aren't coming with us on this trip so that's fine anyway. We are DVC members and I was wondering whether we can rent chairs on the beach or if they only rent them to guests staying at the resort. Also, are we allowed to use the restaurant or is that limited to guests staying at VB?

Yes you are allowed to use the restaurant.
You need key access to the pool and beach. I would think you would need to be staying there to rent the chairs. We use our card there too.

I would try to make a reservation for a day and just use the whole place.... It's pretty cheap for just a day and a Garden Inn room should be available.

Best to call the front desk and ask.
You can park at Wabasso Beach and go to the beach from there - that's the public access point. The chair rental company is private but I'm not sure if they rent to anyone not staying at Disney as they always ask for a room #. DVC members do get a discount though. You won't be able to go up to the Disney property (past the beach) from that point as you need a room key for access. You can eat at the restaurant and they will give you a parking pass for your dining time.
