is there a pier that we would be allowed to fish on in the vero beach area??

I don't remember seeing a pier. I did see a lot of people fishing of the beach, early in the morning their were several people out there.

There is lots of fishing on the beach at the resort and at the many county parks along the coast, there is a small freshwater lake owned by Disney across the street from the resort that has nice size bluegill and bass, and there are many areas to fish along the Wabasso bringe. There are a couple pf bait shops on the other side of the Wabasso bridge, and my husband uses hot dogs and works in the Disney lake.

I'd suggest you try posting all these posts on the adoration thread!
That's where most of us who have spent time at VB hang out! ;)

To answer you question...yes...not at the resort but if you head north on 1A1 to sebastian state park there's a peir to fish from. :)

This is also the location of the McLarty Treasure Museum - well worth the time to see.

There are also fishing boats / charters available at Captain Hirams.. (Just a few miles north on US-1)

One of the nice things about the area is that there is salt water, fresh water, and brackish (sp?) water... You should be able to fish for just about anything...
