I am thinking about going to VB with a friend and her ds. She said that she didn't think there were any life guards on the beach and if that is true she won't go. I don't want to plan any further if that is a deal breaker. Can anyone tell me if she is right?

Thanks!

She is correct. There are no lifeguards on the beach in front of DBVR. However, the Wabasso public beach is the next property to the north and does have lifeguards stationed there. Google Map it and you will see what I mean.

Lifeguards are rarely found on FL beaches. I don't understand her problem - but it sounds like she won't be accompanying you:confused3

The beach at the Vero Resort can be a rough surf for swimming. There is a strong undertow and I would not recommend swimming out far anyway. We love the beach there to just walk along, walk in a bit to get wet, but keep our distance from the local sharks, lol.

The pool is fabulous there as well. :)

Thanks everyone - I guess we will look elsewhere. I understand her unease if there is no lifeguard - especially if the ocean is rough. She does want her son to go in the ocean not just the pool so I need to take that into consideration. Oh well - I will go another time and do something else with her.

The public beach with lifeguards is a very short walk north of Disney's beach. Plus, we have witnessed the lifeguards come to the aid of people on the Disney beach several times.
