Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on driving from Disney World to Vero Beach for an overnight trip. The road along the keys looks neat and it doesn't seem like to far drive. We will be staying at our home resort SSR and that this might be a nice break for two days and one night.

Thanks

We've never done a split stay, but we drive from Orlando to VB all the time. It is about a two hour drive. You will love VB.

Tts not that far of a drive but they are not in the keys. You are basically driving I-95 the whole way. Vero is really nice though. We just stayed there 2 weeks ago before our cruise for 2 nights.

I think maybe Cathy was referring to the drive along A1A that runs the length of the the barrier islands on the east coast. I don't think they are actually referred to as barrier islands either, but that is all I can think to call them. Maybe one of our FLA resident members can enlighten me.

I think it's a great idea if you want to just sample VB. It may win your heart, I know it won DH's and he's not a beach person...he just loves to relax there and he thinks it's beautiful. Get an ocean view inn room if you can.

Thanks for the info We booked for the Friday night and got an oceanview inn room on the main level. We think it will be lots of fun. Given that we live in the praries and both of us love the water so it should be great.

Can anyone tell me how many points you need for a February stay at VB? Two adults Ocean View Inn room?

We just got back last night from a similar trip. Spent the first part in Saratoga Springs, then 3 night Dis cruise and then VB. VB is a great way to unwind and relax from a busy trip in WDW and we absolutely loved it. My son was so tired from our busy vacation that he slept from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m without waking up! VB has that effect on you.
