I am looking into a trip to Vero and had a few quick questions.

What Airport is easiest to fly into?
Does Disney have free round trip transfers to the resort like ME?
Chances of a ressie in the next couple of weeks?
Thanks,
Jim

easiest for someone is not so easy to answer. The closest is Melbourne.
Easy for me is direct flight into Orlando then drive from there. From Boston would mean a stop somewhere like Atlanta or Orlando transfer planes before flying into Melbourne.

nope , but there are town car services you could use.

I would agree... For us, the "easiest" airport is MCO... It's big.. and we know how to get around it... Plus, if we fly into Florida, we need to rent a car to get to VB and MCO offers a lot of rental car choices.. The drive is about 90 mins or so..

Other's have used West Palm Beach as well...

This year was rough for making airline reservations. The price were higher and the choice of flight times seemed more limited too, since they seem to be trying to lock you into a certain limited number of return leg choices once you pick your departure leg. Definitely not consumer friendly, but that's my opionion. Having said that, I decided to bite the bullet, and fly the family into MLB (Melbourne Regional Airport). The only major carrier is Delta, and we have to switch plans in Atlanta, but then we're only 30 minutes north of VB. We're going to rent a car and head on down. The problem with this option is, of course, the return leg, which has us leaving for the airport veeerry early on our departure date. We'll see how it all works out, and I'll report back here. Usually, by the last day, I'm so antsy that leaving a little earlier won't be a problem. Just throw the 3 kids and wife in the car and head back to MLB for a 30 minute ride instead of 1.5-2.0 hours to get to MCO (Orlando).

West Palm Beach and MCO are roughly the same distance to Vero so you can check pricing for both. If you think you'd like to explore the area, I would recommend renting a car. The rental will run you about the same as paying for car service to and from the resort (roughly $200+ roundtrip)

March-April are the primetime for Vero Beach. But, with DVC it never hurts to ask!

...Your best bet is fly into Orlando(MCO) airport. Like others have stated its the exact same distance for both airports(MCO and PBI-WPB). Its about 95 miles and 1 hr 20 minute drive from both.

But there is NO qusetion you will get the best fares and most non-stops from MCO(Orlando). I have made this trip from Vero(to Pittsburgh) about 20x the last year and have NEVER flown from PBI(WPB) yet. Plus Southwest flys non-stop from Orlando to Pittsburgh...:thumbsup2

I'm guessing that any of the Orlando services will make a trip to Vero. Generally, the prices they charge include their costs to go down and back empty on one trip. I got a "guessestimate" on pricing in the past by doing a Google search.

Yes most limo services out of Orlando would LOVE your business but I would rent a small car will cost about 1/2 of the roundtrip limo ride.

March and April are peak season for Vero, and it is a small resort. We've had good luch getting reservations in June and July.
