Going in two weeks and staying in a Beach House (or whatever the Grand Villa is called at Vero). There are only six of these - can someone suggest which is the best to request? I asked for non-smoking. The one at the southern end of the resort looks as if it is the closest to the beach. I know that all have a great view, I just want it to be perfect for my 82 year old mom. Also, the member site says the campfire is 4 nights a week. Anyone know which 4? Thanks.

You are going to LOVE the beach house! Any of them will be great.

To reach the beach, you have to cross the dune. The only way to do this is by the walkway....if you look at p. 126 of the Member Guidebook there's a map of the resort. Where you see the Campfire is also the crossing to the beach. Villa 1450 is the closest to this crossing. However, none of the villas are more than a 1-2 minute walk. Unit 1250 is the one they use for member meetings and I'm not even sure if they rent it out. 1575 is on the far end of the property. It's not far from the pool/beach but it is the most private/isolated.

The latest VM gives the time for the campfire as 8:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday. This could be subject to change.

Thanks, Pam. I guess I will take what I am given - after looking at the guidebook again, it looks like any will be fine. I am *SO* looking forward to this trip. I have been only once to Vero, and we were in a 1BR on the first floor, so there was no view. I also have never been in January or with just all adults. Looking forward to trying the Green Cabin room this time, but I want to check out the campfire for later trips with little ones. Thanks for your quick reply!
