We just spent a wonderful long week-end at the Vero Resort (7/25-7/28). The weather was fantastic, just the typical rain showers at 4pm and then back to the normal, sunny, breezy day. It's amazing how it can be 95 degrees and unbearably humid in town but by the beach it's breezy and comfortable. Thank goodness for the beach because the pool water was as warm as bath water, yuck.

The 4 of us had 2 OVIR, both in good condition and our room even came with fruit, all be it a slightly used pear under the bed ( I disposed of it myself)! I guess mousekeeping just doesn't look under the beds anymore, other than that the room was clean! Every CM was courtious and pleasant. The resort was really not very busy at all. It's rather nice to get up and not have to worry about crowds, parks, buses etc.

We are all from Fla so we ventured away from the resort for dinner. The Outback for the 1st night, Vittorio's Pizzaria the 2nd (Fried Raviolies, Yum), and 14th Ave Steak House Monday night!

My BF and I each got a massage, very reasonably priced. :cloud9:

All in all, a really nice week-end! Wish I could do this every month or two!

I am also planning on a massage when at VB in October. Do you remember the price?

They are all in the $70 dollar range. What a difference from the Orlando prices. They have a deep tissue massage, a massge for the sports enthousiast, hot stones, aromatherapy, they are all about $70 if not $70.

It's the 1st time I've treated myself, I have a hard time parting with anything more than $100 when it comes to myself.

Enjoy!

Excellent!!! I think they do the massages in a room down by the pool area? I am saving my birthday money to treat myself during my Oct. trip!!

The massage rooms are in the main building, down the hall with all of the old Vero Beach photos and shadow boxes.

I know right where that is! Thanks! How has the weather and surf been?

Weather--typical summer VB weather. :) Hot, moderate humidity, afternoon t-storms almost every day.

Surf--the waves break hard right at the shore line, but if you're 10-20 feet out it's pretty mild. Riptide warnings are all over the place. We kept the kids out of the water because a few surf fishermen had caught some hammerheads (small, around 3-4') on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Did they get high speed internet in the rooms yet, that was a big drawback for me last time we were there, other then that it was great. There were a huge amount of shells on the beach also, did you find that on your recent trip? When were there a shark was traveling along the shoreline and all the smaller fish were jumping out of the water and landing alive on the beach.

Yes there is Internet now at VB! I know the Inn rooms are wireless connectivity. Villas also have it. Not sure if it's wireless or ethernet there.

WiFi in the villas. IIRC, it's free for members, $9.95/day for non-members.

Shells--DD came back with a bucket full, so I guess that means there are plenty of shells on the beach. :)

I took home some really great shells! Most of the shells collect at the beach where the waves break. Once you get past the beginning part of the water, it gets much better. I loved our August trip....but there were no waves!!!:goodvibes
