OK...we're going to Vero for one night in an oceanview inn room Nov 9.. . We got the letter about the scaffolding but really don't want to change our plans just for this...anyone been there recently that knows where the scaffolding is and what the extent of the view disturbance there is? I'm already having nightmares that we'll be trying to sit on our balcony and will have to look at the ocean around some guy with a paintbrush or power tools. It's only one night, but my DH has never been to Vero and I've talked it up so much from when I last visited it years ago...just hoping the refurbishment is minimal.

Haven't been there in the last year, but we were there after the hurricanes in 2004 and the scaffolding was everywhere. This being said, they seemed to be able to avoid us (maybe it was all planned), but we had clear view all the time.

I think (hope) they are aware of visitor stays and make sure they are not blocking views.

In any case, you will have a wonderful time at Vero Beach... I promise.

Hi Skylynx,
DH and I got back from Vero on 10/20. They were painting one of the Villas down past the pool, we didn't see any evidence of scaffolding around the Inn. We had third floor ocean view! It was great. We love that resort. This was our first trip there in October, we usually go in early May. :woohoo: Now I think we will be going there twice a year.
ENJOY!!!

Thanks for the replies...I feel much better. I just seem to attract scaffolding. Years ago on my very first trip to Paris, the entire Arc de Triomphe was covered in scaffolding. In Regensburg, Germany, the fabulous cathedral was also obliterated on the outside with scaffolding. I think I just have a really bad sense of timing with refurbishment. I never want to be the kind of person that looks for reasons to be disappointed-just glad the whole resort won't look like a set of monkey bars!

Truly, you'll be thinking.... GOD, I love this place...
