We haven't stayed at Vero yet and I want to book 2 nights after a cruise we have next year. I called this morning and there was wide open availability. Since we are only staying 2 nights, I want to get either an ocean view Inn room or a studio - to conserve points. I looked on All Ears and didn't see many photos of the rooms. What are the differences? Does anyone have rooms pics? TIA!!

Go for the OVIR! We were just there in Aug. for the first time but I don't have my pics uploaded anywhere yet so I can't post any for you. But the room was HOOGE and had a great view. This room was so much bigger than any studio we've ever stayed in. Plus there are 2 queen beds. I requested an upper floor with an open railing (some are enclosed balconies). You won't be disappointed in an OVIR!! :thumbsup2

Another vote for an OVIR - that is exactly what we are doing before our next cruise. Really nice sized rooms and great views.

The difference in the rooms are that the OVIR are located in the main part of the resort and within walking distance of pool and main lobby. The studios are located around the resort. So you are walking a little more to get to the main area and pool.
OVIR is so worth it! I recommend requesting the OVIR on one of the top floors facing the pool. You get the ocean view too.
The room is bigger as you get two queen beds and not the pull out couch as in the studios.
Tips for first time:
Be sure to eat at the bar on the outside deck and listen to the waves at night. Have dessert there and play a deck of cards!
Shutters has good food for all meals and the staff is so friendly. Sonya is #1 for a luxury dinner.
Get the unlimited drink cups for 11.95 as you can fill them up during your stay. Drinks and coffee apply.
Be sure to get your pool spot early in the morning!
The atmosphere is so relaxed. You can walk around in your sweats/pjs and sit on the rocking chairs facing the ocean.
Vero Beach is the best beach vacation!

There is also an OVIR on the top floor in the front center corner that has a king sized bed (I'm pretty sure) and a pull out sofa. The layout of the room is much larger than the other inn rooms and configured a little differently. I wish I could give you the room number. The room was great.

I too am throwing my vote for the OVIR. We love the Vero Beach resort.

It is a really great option to have as a DVC member to be able to have a beach stay instead of or in addition to a WDW stay. We skipped WDW this year for a trip to Vero, while I missed WDW it was the best beach trip ever. Economically speaking we couldn't really afford park tickets this year so Vero was a perfect solution. We also provided a honeymoon stay at Vero for my DS and DDIL and they loved it as well.

We had such a good relaxing time we are tenatively thinking about Vero again in late May or early June and a first ever October stay at WDW.

Thank you everyone for your responses! I booked the OVIR and am stoked about it. I went over to the Vero adoration thread and got loads of good info over there. Since we live close to WDW and just returned from a 5 night trip to the parks last week, I definitely wanted something different for after the cruise. I am always so depressed when the cruise is over this will be the perfect ending to our vacation.

:thumbsup2

sorry but what is an open railing??

Some of the balconies have a fully enclosed solid 1/2 wall rather than a railing. So you can't see through it when you're sitting down - you have to stand up to see out to the ocean. The open railings are true railings with slats which you can see through from the balcony. :thumbsup2
