This will be our 1st stay at Vero Beach! Is there a good recommendation for a nice restaurant or nice restaurants on the beach near the resort?

Thx! :)

“Near the resort“ is tough. The resort is in mostly residential area, and you need to drive to get to restaurants.

We enjoy Captain Hiram’s, it’s on the Inner coastal waterway, not the ocean. We saw dolphins while eating there in January.

We are VB owners (10 yrs) and we still have not hit on anything spectacular near the resort, as the previous poster mentioned. We generally only go for 2-3 nights so eat one night on site at the sit down restaurant there and maybe do the quick serve one night and always try something new another but it requires a 20 min drive or so. The onsite one is nice (not amazing, however) so would try that one night.

We are going for our 3rd visit this June. We have gone to Squid Lips in Sebastian just over the bridge, about 15 minutes west and north of resort. Very casual, restaurant sits on the waterfront, tons of seafood. Very cool.

I know from my research in the past that if you head south to the actual town of Vero Beach there is a really nice restaurant on the oceanfront called the Ocean Grill. I always check out TripAdviser reviews.
There are tons of restaurants down in the actual Vero Beach area. It’s about a 15-20 drive south of resort.

Good luck😎👍🏻✨💫🌴☀️

Ocean Grill, CJ Canon’s, Bobby’s.
If you want pizza, bands, and a biker bar, Earl’s.
If you want to go a bit further, Outriggers. Even further up in Malabar, Yellow Dog Cafe.

If you want particulars on any, please ask.
I do NOT recommend Hiram’s or Squid Lips.

I’m intrigued. We’re heading to Vero Beach tomorrow for 2 nts from AKL and those are the 2 most mentioned and/or recommended places to eat. Should we stay clear and try something else? No Ocean Grill for us, not everyone packed more than athletic clothes. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well they are very popular for tourists. Hiram’s has some decent entertainment sometimes at the Sand Bar. The atmosphere and views can be nice at both.

However, most local folks do not eat there very often. The food is marginal at best IMO, and the same for most other locals I know.

My wife and I eat out A LOT. We can be found at one of four places…. CJ’s, Bobby’s, Outriggers, or Earl’s.
Bobby’s and CJ’s are much more family orientated.
Outriggers great for adults, but about five minutes further in Micro. Earl’s is a biker bar with fantastic pizza, calzones, meatballs, etc. Also great bands on weekends.
Food good at all of those four.
Earl’s, Hiram’s, and Lips all close together on the Sebastian party strip. There are a few others as well.

We, 4 adults, recently spent about an hour and a half at Captain Hiram’s enjoying appetizers and main dishes. Our server was friendly and the food was excellent!

We had a very good lunch and even better dinner at Citron Bistro. It is a small place in a small shopping area a few miles south of Disney. The food was great !

THANK YOU!

We have really enjoyed The Italian Cousin in Sebastian although haven’t been there post Covid…… yet.
