I just enjoyed my first stay at VB (6/23 - 6/26), and I'm considering buying 70 pts. Do all VB owners enjoy VB? Do any regret buying at VB? It's me my wife, boys 11 and 6, daughter 2.
We stayed in an Inn room with an Ocean view, and we thouhgt that it was big enough. I figured 70 pts. would give me enough for 4 nights in an Inn room or 3 in a 1 bedroom. I have to overnight contracts back to DVC tomorrow. By the way, they have a $15 buy back(Magical Beginning promo going on at VB).

We bought 75 points at VB for the same reason. We went for our first trip 5/00 and have been back three time since. We don't regret our purchase at all. Vero Beach is an awesome resort. It's one of our favorite parts to our trips. Send the contracts back and enjoy!
:D :D :D

We bought 90 points last September, and have since then bought 25 more.

We feel the same way - and just didn't want to get locked out at the 7-month period.

It's a fabulous resort!!

Steve on LI,

We just got back from VB 3 days ago. We were there for 4 nights in a 1BR( 2nd floor, direct ocean view, bldg 15). It was our 1st time there and it exceeded our expectations:D ,We originally bought 110 pts back in Jan of this year, but after staying there we added on 50 more pts last week(with MB's). The Beach Cottages are "AWESOME". We are already planning to bring our family down next summer. We like having the 11 month window at VB (off-site) and at OKW (on-site).

We too have added VB to our DVC portfolio.
Although we have not been yet, we have tried to book cash ressies there in the past with no luck. That was the reason for the add-on.

FWIW, I was on the phone with MS a few weeks ago, and they informed me there was Beach Cottage available for two of our three days in Sept. We snatched this up, and were suprised this was available three months out. It must have been a cancellation.

Good Luck with your decision!

Can someone explain the Vero Beach Magical Beginnings to me? I'm fairly new to DVC and have never seen anything from MS about this - have just seen it mentioned here!

Thanks!

Magical Beginnings is a program offered by DVC/DVD where they offer to buy back all or part of your first use year's points. They offer various amounts, usually $5, $10, or currently $15 per point at VB, and apply this to your down payment. This can work out very well if you buy in the middle of your use year, because in 6 months, you have a fresh load of points.

If you buy 100 pts at VB, you could have an extra $1500 down payment.

Have Fun!

Vero was our original purchase using Magical Beginnings. We also own BWV and VWL. I like the all the hustle & bustle at Disney World while DH prefers the laid back atmosphere of Vero.

Last December we spend 5 nights at BWV and then 4 nights at VB. We both really enjoyed that strategy...run like crazy and then relax. DH says now that I can go to Disney more often, I don't feel I need to do a 'commando' raid on the parks.:D

Gracelrm...
Magical Beginnings (MB) is where DVC will "buy back" your first year's points at $15/pt. This can then be applied to your downpayment.

When we bought VB in June 2000, we got a February use year so we had points that started February 2000. Since we weren't planning to go to Vero until later 2001, we didn't really need the 2000 points so we applied them to our downpayment

We purchased 150 points in 1996 and have been down at least once a year. We find it very relaxing, to just lay around and walk on the beach. We like OKW and DW but after a week it really nice to slow down and rest.

If you want to go in March or April it helps to have the eleven month window. I am sure that you will enjoy the quite pace and rest that you will get.

There are a lot of nice restaurants in Vero - Monte's and Tango's come to mind.

I have a small ad on at Vero (52 points). I wish I had more now. We spend part of our trip at Vero and part at Disney. It gets my DH back to Disney too. We did not go this year and he is ready for a vacation now. He even wants to add on at Vero to insure we can make our ressie. Just got to figure out how much to add.

Don't forget, with three kids over 3 yrs old, you will eventually need a two bedroom instead of an Inn room, studio or one-bedroom. You might want to get a few more points if you can afford it.
