I have alread booked our seven night stay at VB during July. The first and last day are basically traveling days. It is at least a three hous flight to Orlando and then a two hour drive to VB. Would you tack on another day ? I feel like we are going to miss out with those days traveling days.

Some people are bored at Vero after only a few days, but I feel that I could stay there for a month and still want to stay longer (well, maybe not a month, but at least a couple of weeks). So if you can swing it, I would add on antoher day.

We had the same issue on our trip to St. John last year. It took an entire day to get to, and an entire day to get from, and we were only there from Sat to Sat. We decided on our trip for this year that we are going for 12 nights.

The last few trips we have been going for 6 nights/5 days (long story-homesick issues) but prior to, we always went for 8 nights because with traveling it really was a week. If you get there real early on arrival day and leave late afternoon on departure day then you kind of get back the lost time but it does make for long days on the ends unless you are well rested. We have played all angles and can't find just the right fit. If I remember the drive to VB from WDW was only about 1+1/4 hours and we headed back north towards the airport. I think 2 hours may be a little more, but with getting luggage and the car and getting there it will amount to about 2 hours. If you are in doubt I would say book the extra day. Happy planning.

7 nights at VB will be fine. It is only 96 miles from MCO to VB so that will only take you 1 hr 20 mintes to get there from the airport. So even if you don't check in until 4-5:00 pm you will still have 6 full days at VB
We always try to book a late flight(4-6:00 pm) out on our return and stay at VB until checkout(11:00 am) on the last day.

We will just miss you there...we arrive June 26 and leave on July 2nd.;)

We were there for three full days last summer - for us that was plenty. We had a terrific time (2 parents, 13 year-old son, 11 year-old daughter) but that was plenty for us. We would go back again, but to us it in every 3-4 year side trip. Rent the boards on the pier for the ocean - we had nice waves that made it a blast.
