Has anyone been to VB in the summer? Would you go again in July? I notice July isn't in the upper tiers for points, so assume it's not a very popular time to visit. Is this because of the climate/conditions or because the snowbirds don't visit in the summer months?

All this is supposing we can eventually make up our minds on when where to go next summer ... and manage to get a reservation at 7 months

Obviously it's DAMN HOT at that time of year, but the sea breeze does help to make it feel slightly less oppressive than it feels in Orlando in the parks with no moving air. The more into July you go the more chance you have of storms, but you should still get some decent weather.

Vero's a great place, if you've not been before you'll have a great time :D

Thanks, Vernon - that's a more positive view than I had expected, to be honest! :)

Yip you'll be in for some hot crotch cooking :teeth:

Well thats what Robin Williams said in GOOD MORNING VIETNAM :teeth:

Hi Hilary

We have been to Vero quite a few times in the summer. We are going again in August before we go on the Cruise. It is Hot with Showers every afternoon but we enjoy it whenever we go. Its a great resort particularly if you are with kids Lots of activities.

Main problem in the summer is the Noseeum bugs. They can be a real pain, first thing in the morning and in the evening. A tiny gnat like thing. Plenty of bug spray does the trick but you do need it.

Any more info required let us know.

Thanks :)

Just when I thought we'd definitely decided Florida was off the agenda for next summer, DH said this morning "well, if we never try it in the summer, we'll never know..."

That's not our only 'problem' in making a decision at the moment though, as we're finding it tricky to commit to booking anything too far in advance as I'm not sure DD will want to come with us next year anyway.

Mind you, I'm not complaining about this kind of dilema - any choice is a great one as far as holidays are concerned!

Vero Beach in the summer can be very busy particulary around the Four of July Holiday. Late afternoon storms with lighting are frequent so guests are encouraged to leave both the beach and swimming pool areas for their safety. The no-see-uhm! bugs are really anoying during the evening or early morning hours so pack some bug spray. Do also consider the posibility of hurricanes since mid-August to mid-September is the season's peak. It gets very hot, but the sea breaze helps a bit. We found the inn-rooms more convinient since they are located in the same building as the car park, restaurants and bar. We manage to go every other year and we always enjoy it.

Those no-seeums seem to have an in-built ability to track down eldest DD and me! We've had problems with them on our trips when we've visited Florida in October, but found this Easter trip we didn't get bitten at all.

Thanks for your input :)
