Vero Beach in early June?

We have reservations for four nights at BWV arriving June 1st. Now I am thinking that we may stay until Sunday. Instead of adding three more days at WDW I thought we might try Vero Beach. (We aren't the sort to spend a week at the beach, but thought it would be fun for a shorter trip.)

Is Vero Beach usually packed that early in the summer? I checked and there seems to be availability for studios, OVIR, and both one- and two-bedrooms through outside booking companies. Any idea of availability on points or maybe booking on cash for the weekend with member discount?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

I am also thinking of going that very weekend. We will be at the Boardwalk that week and then again at the Boardwalk the next week, but I don't have any plans for the weekend, so I was thinking of doing Vero that weekend. I checked a few weeks ago and they had, at that point, a one bedroom and studio at the member discount, since I am out of points I need the cash discount.

I think most people will say that VB's peak comes earlier in the year (mid March - mid June) and that is probably statistically correct, but I've found in the months from March - November that there is not enough difference from time to time to feel that "woah, it is crowded". Even when fully booked VB is still layed back compared to the wdw resorts. You never compete for a spot on the beach. Sometimes you might compete for a front fow lounge chair at the pool if you are a late arriver.

Its really never "over crowded" at the VB resort. Like the previuos post mentioned it may be a little crowded at the pool. byt there is always plenty of room on the beach! :thumbsup2
