I know there was lots of suggestions about Vero Beach on the old boards. I was planning on going back when it was closer to the time for us to go and print them, but now I can't. Can anyone give me some of the tips about what all there is to see and do and the best places to eat? Make sure to include shopping, as I love this!! Thanks, can't wait as this is our first time!:pinkbounc

Well, I cannot give you too many shopping choices at Vero. We pretty much stayed close to home and loved every minute of it. We have gone to Vero for the past two summers. They have wonderful children's programs and the campfire nights are a blast. There are many restaurants in the town and the desk in the lobby can help you with your choice. THere is even a large book with menues. We enjoyed our meals at Sonya's and Shutters as well. The trip to NASA is about an hour and if you haven't done that, we felt it was well worth the trip. The Turtle experience, if you are lucky enough to be selected in the lottery, was great too. The slide show was a bit long winded, but the walk to see the turtle made it worth it for me. We learned so much that we went back the next night and saw one ourselves ~excellent! Hope this little bit helps. Have a wonderful trip!!

disney duo, we will be at vb at the same time. Lets hope for some great weather. There is a mall about 20 min away. We usually stay right at the resort to eat. We are arriving on 5/15 for 4-nights. We'll see you there.

There is an outlet mall in Vero at the interstate exit that has great shopping. Bit of a drive, but worthwhile stores and prices. DW was impressed.

There is also a regular mall, didn't check it out but it seemed to be of fair size.

We always eat at the bar on the patio-great view of the ocean. Another great place to eat is Capt. Hirams- located on RT1. JP:)

My wife & I are going to VEro for the first time in June. I would be insterested in hearing about your stay there if you have the time. I was going to print the old tips about Vero as you had suggested. Hope you have a great trip!:)

Shopping! If you head down A1A toward Vero Beach you'll pass a small (kind of expensive) shopping area not too far from the resort. Might be worth poking around. Down in the "real" Vero Beach area (turn off of A1A down to the water -- I think it's called Ocean Drive), there are also some small shops that are good for looking. The clothing shops trend older and then there are some gift shop type places. This would probably be boring for small children but an adult shopper might find it interesting (I do). There is a parking lot by the Holiday Inn. You'll also see the Ocean Grill restaurant right on the water which is also quite good and very popular with the local folks.

Ask for directions and/or get a map to take you out to State Road 60. As you travel out this road toward I-95 you will find a large mall and a large outlet center. There are also smaller shopping areas including grocery stores.

Try the link to the Dis Discusiion forums and then search using Vero Beach. I found a lot of info that I was unaware of. If you have already done this - nevermind...

Our first trip to Vero is scheduled for May 20-25. While I hope there is lots to do, I also hope there's nothing to do but sit back and relax. ;)

We've loved your Hilton Head website. You were one of our influences into buying in at DVC (not at HH, though, but we know there's life after WDW.) Our first trip to Vero is May 24/25. Maybe we'll run into you at Vero.
