DW and I are planning on staying at VB later this winter and have heard that there is an extra charge for the use of beach chairs and cabanas. For you VB veterans, any truth to this ??

Also, what is the difference between a studio beach view and a studio end unit beach view as far a room layout, size, balcony, etc.

Thanks

I'd like to know this too. We are going in a 2 bedroom on July 23 (just called today at the 7th month mark) and would like to know if we need to bring our stuff. Thanks.

Yes there is a charge for chairs and umbrellas on the beach. We rented them during the summer for one day. I think it cost around $28.00 for two lounge chairs and an umbrella. The chairs were very comfortable. You cannot move them, however. Many people had their own chairs and if we were there for longer, I would have bought our own. DVC members do get a slight discount on the chairs, maybe $3.00 or so.

Just log in to the DVC website for members only and check out the perks section for the resort; you will be able to find the price for unbrellas, etc. and how much it cost for DVC members.

It is true. Disney doesn't own the beach (public domain) and the beach rentals are 3rd party. If you have a car you can pickup a couple chairs and umbrella from Walmart for under $50 and save a bunch.
