We have an ocean view Inn room booked. We were asked if there was anything special we wanted in terms of location, room, etc. and since we haven't been there I didn't know what to say.

Any suggestions from the experts .....????

Also, how long does it take to get from Disney's Vero Beach property to Dodgertown? We don't have to worry about parking as we have special passes but am trying to figure out the "timing thing." Also, is there a route that is better? Or is there only one way?

Just make sure you get a full frontal ocean facing room. Some OVIR's are on the corner and look over the pool or the other side of the resort.

Not sure on the second question, but I'd guess about 30 minutes or less.

We've stayed in many OVIR's. The ones on the side of the building did not bother us. We loved being able to see the pool. You can always request a direct ocean view.

It takes about 20 minutes to get to Dodgertown. You can come out of the resort and cross the bridge (510) Then make a left at US1 and take that for a while down to the road that the airport is on (I forget the name) Turn right and Dodgertown will be down the road about 1-2 miles on your left hand side.

I'm going to be down in that area today so I will get you the name of the road.

I would ask for higher up. It only has 4 floors but our 4th floor view was the best. Have a great trip.:goodvibes

4th Floor:
Pros - 1) High up so good ocean view. 2) On the same level as the free laundry room
Cons - 1) Always having to use the elevator to get to room.

2nd Floor:
Pros - 1) Being on the same level as the Green Cabin Room 2) Being able to use the stairs right off the lobby to run up or down from your room. In my opinion this is huge.
Cons - 1) Not having as high of a room for the Ocean view.

Things that you might request...

Floor level (2-4)
Side of building (The Ocean View Rooms are on the North, South(pool) as well as the East (ocean)).
Balcony style (some have a closed in Balcony wall verses a slat style railing)
Corner rooms (they are a different shape)
King bed room (there are only 2)
HA (or not)

Lisareniff - Question on the king bed rooms - Are there two king size beds, or one king and one queen? :confused3

When are you going? How many children? I would say that if you are going to arrive or stay the week of 6/22 to 6/27 then you should choose a second floor room facing the pool.

Otherwise, I would go for a fourth floor room facing the ocean.

Sorry to let the cat out of the bag, Rob! ;)

There is only one real bed in those rooms, the king. I am unsure about the sleeper sofa. Rob probably knows better then I, since the king rooms wouldn't really work for our family, and he has been paying particular attention to every word that is dropped on that topic.

We do like the 4th floor the best because of the gorgeous ocean view and being on the same floor as the laundry room. We were on the 2nd floor last year and because of the shrubs , we couldn't see much of the actual beach, just the water, from our room. Still a beautiful view but we liked being able to see the whole beach from the 4th floor!

One thing I did like about being on the 2nd floor was not having to take the elevators! The lobby stairs were very easy!:)
