Vero Beach - Dining

Looking for recommendations on Dining in the Vero Beach area. My husband and I will be vacationing at Vero Beach in June are looking for some really nice restaurants.

If you are there on a Sunday definitelt make reservations for the brunch at Sonya's. When we went a couple years back it was about $20 a person but well worth it. Everything form shrimp to prime rib to crepes - you name it. It starts about 10am. I would go early if possible. We have also tried the Black Pearl Restaurant on Rt A1A. It is geared toward adults but if you check the times you may get the early bird special. We ate there and had a great meal and martinis for about $85 for two. There are two Black Pearls we have tried the one on the canal just north of Vero across from the Vero Public park. It is about 4 miles from the DVC
Vero Resort on the right hand side of AIA. Go left out of DVC and travel south.

a place called "2001" but I think it is 2002 now. It is a family place and not very fancy. The food is great! It was recommended by a friend I work with. She and her husband own at HH but vacationed at VB. Just ask at the desk they can tell you where it is. I agree the Sunday brunch is great at Sonya's.

There is the Ocean View Grill, about 4 miles south of DVB and right on the ocean (next to Holiday Inn). Excellent food, leave room for desert. My favorite is a casual little place called the Riverside cafe. Its right on the river, just over the causeway (us 60 I think). Its a casual place with entertainment on weekends but the best thing (besides the excellent food) is their sunsets. At sunset they ring a bell and the entire staff (along with most patrons) go outside on the dock to watch for about 5 minutes. Its wonderful, I've even seen manatee right by the restaurant.
