One time when we were there, it was wet out and they held the campfire on the porch with a wood pile and pretend red celophane fire. The effort was greatly appreciated.
The quality of the experience seems to vary widely based on the leaders. We've been to very good ones that were run well, and our kids kept singing the songs a year later "... Hay, my name is Joe, and I work in a button factory..." We have also been to ones that were too brief, and poorly led by a very young adult acting out, yelling in a very strained voice instead of singing, and not doing a very good job. I hope the quality of these experiences is maintained, they can be very nice and worthwhile. I guess the trick is to provide the managers with feedback, so they can coach thier staff appropriately. I think I'll probably time the next one and include it as a part of my feedback. If anyone can put on a show, it should be Disney. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right.
