For our visit to VB in March, we hope to eventually secure a 1-bed, but at the moment I have a reservation for a studio because the 1-beds were taken. I opted for a studio instead of an inn room (which was also available) because I liked the idea of having a bed and a sofa rather than two beds since there'll be just the two of us. However, looking on the DVC site at the photo tours, I'm now concerned that the studio looks a bit dark and airless compared to the inn room. Not having been to VB, I don't know whether this is down to the camera angle more than anything.

For those of you who have visited Vero, would you choose a studio or inn room, and why?

I love the Inn rooms. You can get lovely rooms facing the ocean and as you say, they are bright and airy. Not all are like that though. The shape of the building dictactes that there are some 'quirky' rooms with sloping ceilings, less-than-great balconies and worst of all as far as I'm concerned, only a side ocean view which still counts as 'ocean view' on the points chart.

I've read good reports about the studios and I will be interested to hear if anyone from 'our' community has stayed in one.

We stayed in an ocean view inn room and it was just like an ordinary hotel room but with the little kitchenette area. Our "ocean view" overlooked the pool with a sideways view of the ocean. We are going for a 1 bed next time and I think if I was in your situation I'd go for the studio and ask for a high floor so the window is not blocked by vegetation.

The only other thing I'd add is that the room shot might have been taken pre hurricane and with all the trees etc., that were lost might make the rooms brighter anyway.

No advice Hilary.... I just wanted to say I love the look of Vero Beach :)

Hi,
We have always stayed in an ocean view inn room (except when we had a beach cottage but that's another story!) Really love the rooms and of course the view. On one stay we were allocated a room with a partial ocean view and we asked to be moved to a full view and were without any problem. I have never stayed in a studio mainly because there is no guarantee of an ocean view.

Mick.

It seems as though I should stick with the studio (assuming a waitlist doesn't come through) just so that I can report back on it, as everyone here seems to stay in the inn rooms!

My dilema with the waitlist is that I don't have enough points (without borrowing, which I don't want to do) for a 1-bed in VB whilst I still hold a reservation on a 1-bed in OKW. I really need to switch the OKW 1-bed reservation for a studio (preferably at BWV / BCV) before trying for the VB 1-bed. I'll have to put in for waitlisting that part of my reservation first.

Hi Hilary we are staying in an inn room, from the photos and layout on the dvc website the rooms are pretty much identical in facilities and the inn room was a little less in points if i remember.
