Vermonters Take on The World Day 4

Today was to be AK and Epcot. I figured the kids wanted to go back to AK since they had a great time on Monday. Well, as with the rest of my trip- where does my planning go? Right off the 2nd floor balcony/walkway!
DD8 woke up first, and said she really wanted to do Rock N Roller Coaster. UUGGHH here we go again. DH woke up and we talked about it. He said hed go with her, and if she wanted to ride, it well, let her ride it. After all, she did TOT no problem. The 2 of them decide that theyre gonna head to MGM on their own. HUH? I look at him and think to myself: You dont have the passporter, you havent read the unofficial guide, and I KNOW you havent disd because your so computer illiterate, your daughters make fun of you?
Let me give you a little background on the DD7. She has a very big problem with sleep. She needs it. She isnt afraid to tell you that. She shows you every day if shes tired. The whines. The cries. The attitude. It comes out in full-bloom if shes lacking sleep. These 2 DDs of mine, are in bed at 7:30 when were home, and up around 630-645. This is their schedule and we stick to it. For the most part.
Shes laying in bed, sound asleep, the turbo toilet didnt wake her and so far this morning, its been flushed 3 times. I look at DH whose checking out DD8s special gifts shes been collecting everyday and say go, take her, and well meet you at the hat at 11:00. It was 8:30. Out the door they went, and out of bed DD7 got.
She gets up, eats some cereal, jumps in the shower, and asks wheres Dad and Goo? Oh, they went to MGM to do RNRC. Oh, really? To a park alone? Yup, I let them go. Anal planner, over protective mom, yup, I did it. She asks if we can go now too, by this time its about 930, so I say, sure Here is where the trip report will split up.
DD7 and I head to MGM, and DD says she wants to do star tours, and muppetvision first. Okay Dokay- its your day, lets go do them. We walk on to Star Tours, and get to Muppet Vision just as the doors open to let you into the theater. Probably 25% of the theater has people in it. Thats it! We really enjoyed this show even though we had just seen it a few days prior. DD then wants to go just explore okay- off we go. We head towards the hat as its about 1030 now, and the Green Army guys are theyre doing some big thing. We watch them for a while, and she decides she doesnt want their autograph. It was getting quite warm, probably the warmest day we had so far. We grab a bench in the shade, and wait for DH and DD8. Well, dont ever tell someone to meet you at the hat. No- that hat is HUGE, and the courtyard area around it- huge too. We sit until 1115, and no sign of them. Uugghh so I say- lets walk around the hat! Good idea- they were directly on the other side of the hat sitting on another bench! LOL goofs!
DD8 and DH get to MGM before rope drop. They knew they were heading to RNRC and DH felt he had mastered the fast pass. They go walk on to RNRC, and then come out and the 2 of them get a fast pass for TOT yes, that fearless daughter of mine, had talked the Dad into TOT as well. Or so I thought!
They did the same thing DD7 and I did, and just walk around a bit and explore, and look at stuff etc. When we met up with them, the TOT fast passes were returnable. DD wanted to go, DH didnt. He had a plan. Not only could he get a fast pass, he could pass his fast pass yes- to me! Mom, the one who has flash forwards to death on a ride. Me freakazoid!
DD8 and I head over to TOT, she talked me into it. WE walk on, and pick the elevator to the left this time. We end up in the back row, and where they put DD and I, she would have been right in the open area. Umm NO! So this guy- a total TOT freak, offers to switch with me, who in turn switches with DD. I again get that seat up against the wall. My favorite spot. DD is in between us. I figure, this guys a big guy- probably 6 feet, 250lbs, she isnt goin anywhere! Well, she freaked on the ride. Freaked? Yes, the fearless one, started bawling.
What happened to her? Well, I think it was the expectations. The first time she rode it, she only saw what would happen and didnt know what it felt like and there was no anticipation etc.. the 2nd time she rode it, she anticipated every drop and she had some serious issues with them. Our picture this time? Me holding onto her consoling her. If you were there and heard the its okay, its okay, its almost over, your okay well, that was us! The dude next to us? He was full face grin, and hands in the air in the picture. FREAK!
We walked off that ride, and DD wanted to sit down. She wasnt feeling good anymore. She was embarrassed, upset, and still sort of crying. We sat in the smoking courtyard at the exit for a bit. Then we proceeded to explore
DD7 and DH headed back to star tours AGAIN. They rode it 2x while we were at TOT. Our exploring headed that direction, as I knew thats where she would want to go. We met up with them, and I decided we should head over to Epcot. I wasnt too sure what the girls would think of World Showcase but we would venture anyway.
We arrived at Epcot and were totally in awe one problem the fearless one, realized that Mission Space is here. Yes, she had completely forgotten about the episode we just had at TOT.. She was once again, fearless. I basically stood my ground on this one and said no way. I knew that if she didnt keep her face forward, she could get serious motion sickness. Now she had never complained about nausea before, but shed never bawled on a ride either.
We decided to check out test track. Fast passes were gone, so we toughed out the line. The one thing Ill give WDW, even though the line may wind around a 8-mile cattle walk it doesnt feel like its 8 miles long. Youre constantly moving, until you hit the end, and then, well youre on the ride next. DH kept commenting about this cattle parade as he called it. The wait time was posted at 1 hour. Well, if they wanted to ride it, they were gonna have to become one with the cattle, and mooooooooooooove along. We waited, and Im so glad we did. The girls really liked this ride. Its VERY smooth, and fast!
We found the coke station- and DD8 was the Ill try Beverly one in my group. Remember shes the one thats never felt nausea? Well, she felt it LOL Laugh, oh did we laugh. Then, she was dead set that she wouldnt try any other cokes.
The kids had fun just looking at stuff. WE were there during the flower and garden show, so there was tons of bright colored flowers to look at. Back home- it was still snow covered. This was a great treat! We walked through the dog maze, that was pretty cool. We walked through Innoventions East and West, and went over to the land. It was pretty neat. DH enjoyed this part as well.
Into the World Showcase we went, and started at Canada. We didnt do much in the countries, basically walked around and looked. Until that is, we hit Italy. DH is one of those full-blooded Italians. Mom and Dad are both Italian, and he felt like he was in the home hed never known. The DDs and I just stood there and then, I bought the 1st Mickey Antenna Ball that was EVER stolen off my rig. Yes- the Italian Flag they stole it shortly after I got home from WDW jerks!
While in America- there was the flower power concert thing going on. WE watched somebody his mom and dad were singersyou know the guy? Whats his name?? Anyway- you know who I mean. It was cool oh- Ozzie and Harriets kid..whatshisname LOL
By this time I realized we had a PS at Garden Grill for ice cream. FLASH back to there, and enjoy our ice-cream on a spinning room. That was weird. The one thing- I will say- I thought everything came out in separate dishes and you built your own Sunday..Well thats not the case here. Nope its already in a dish. Ive got a couple picky eater daughters, so this was something I hadnt planned. All in all for the 6 bucks a head..it was worth it. It was actually our lunch! We were so busy with rides, and just looking around today we forgot to eat!
Basically after the ice cream we just walked around and took it all in. Not much exciting happened. Until ILLUMINATIONS
Now this- I have GOT to tell you- DO NOT MISS!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!! We stood right at the friendship dock to the right side. The same area that the character bus comes and OMG was this unreal. Again, all of my nighttime pics are on 800 speed film from my 35MM so they are not digital. I apologize, but Ive got to tell you- DONT MISS IT
Okay- after Illuminations, it was pretty late late enough that I was ready for bed. We headed back to the resort, again on bus. And once again, it was not a long wait at all. We had to wait 3 buses, but it was a total of about 15 minutes from the time we got to the line until we were boarded.
Tomorrow was to be our last day in the parks, and I didnt have a clue what we were going to do. I had sort of a plan. AK, then MK..but this meant, getting up early it was Animal Kingdoms Early Entry again. Wed have to hit it early to get it all done.
Off to bed we went .
