anyone ever stay in 1 of the concierge collection resorts in Vermont?
is one more child friendly than another? any with indoor pools?

The Juniper Hill in doesn't have an indoor pool. There are also no televisions in the rooms.

The Woodstock Inn is excellent. They have an indoor pool that is part of their fitness facility which is about 1 mile from the main Inn building. The Eagle Cafe is very kid friendly. The Inn is very close to the Killington Gondola. They also have their own small ski area called Suicide Six.

can kids use the fitness facility at the Woodstock Inn? How far up Vermont is this?

The Woodstock Inn is fantastic. The food was phenomenal especially the lobster and crab crabcakes. It can definitely feel a little stuffy though.

My DH and I spent a weekend there last fall and are defintely going back!

Windham Hill is very nice but not a children's resort - very quiet. In southern to mid vermont. The Equinox is a bit livelier but still not a child's idea of heaven - but the outlets are within walking distance. We'll try to stay there next time. Good luck. If you're looking for something for kids, how about the Boston Harbor Hotel - easy distance to Fanueil hall, the Aquarium and the Children's museum.

We were at Juniper Hill Inn this past May. It's a beautiful place for the ultimate relaxation. It is not a place for children under 12, in fact, they actually specifyt that children under 12 are not allowed.

I have stayed at all of the resorts in Vermont and the TopNotch resort is my favorite. Wonderful area with great restaurants. Ten miles north of Waterbury vermont is Stowe and the resort is 4.5 miles from the village. Ben And Jerry's is not far and there are more restaurants and shopping in the area than you could possibly do in one trip. Lots of recreation. Trapp Family lodge is not far and in the winter offers hundreds of miles of cross country trails. If you like to ski or snowboard then you will find 6 ski areas within 40 miles and Stowe's Mt. Mansfield resort is one of the best just 3 miles up the road.:smooth:

We have stayed at the Equinox - near Manchester - real nice and Juniper Hill - near Windsor - very nice but very adult, that is quiet and peaceful. We just made a rese at Windham Hill - and will let you know.
Don't forget about the Sagamore on Lake George in NY. It is about an hour north of Albany has wonderful beaches, an indoor pool and spa. Very nice and family frendly.
For what it's worth - all conseirge vacations to date have been really top shelf.
