Anyone have the LG Migo for their kids and if so, how do you like it? TIA

I don't but when I was a camp counselor earlier in the summer, all the kids have their fancy schmany cell phones, but one kid had that migo phone. I thought it was much more appropriate for a 10 year old, than a Razr. :rotfl:

I asked him how he liked it, and he said it was great. He can program 4 numbers into it, and he can receive calls. It was small and light and he could clip it on his belt.

My kids don't but my girlfriends two girls have them (ages 7 and 9). They seem to like them and even call their mom from my house on their MIGOS instead of my regular phone. My son who just turned 11 wouldn't be caught DEAD with one and is pining for a Razr. He'll get one when he gets a real razor, and a real JOB. My daughter at 6 NEEDS one and we will be getting her a MIGO this fall as I think it's more appropriate for that age group.

I know! half of the ten year olds out there have better phones than I do.

I don't have one, but they seem okay for kids, op.

The one reason kids' phones make me nervous is that (at least the one's I've seen) only let them get numbers from approved numbers. This makes me nervous because when I was younger, my parents' works blocked outgoing calls from caller ID, so they couldn't get through.
I might just get a cheap phone and monitor their useage of it.

It was the funniest thing when I pulled out my beat up phone. The kids wouldn't even touch it. "Ewwww, way to be uncool like my mom."

I got my son a migo about 3 weeks ago. He has Down Syndrome and it is perfect for him. He has no problem using it. He can call 4 people and we reprogrammed the emergency button to our house phone so he wouldn't call 911 by mistake. He carried around our old cell phones all the time so he is thrilled to have a real phone. I was afraid to get him a regular phone because who knows who he would have called. With the migo we can control who he can call although anyone can call him. Nancy

Thanks for the help all. My DD9 is turning 10 at the end of the month and I think we're going to get it for her. The only time she needs it is for dance. She's homeschooled so that's not an issue, but when she has dance for 2 1/2 hrs(2 days a week) I drop her off and pick her up. All she needs is 4 numbers if class got cancelled or something. The studio would call me, but I just feel better with her having it. Otherwise she wouldn't have a phone at all. She knows that this is not a "status symbol", it's a safety device. Dh and I have a family plan so we can just add her on and be done. Thanks again.
