Tell me about your Verizon Smartphone and what you love about it. I am trying to pick one out for myself and am lost!

Should I wait for the iPhone for Verizon?

I can upgrade my phone 1/18/2011, so I have a little time.

The iphone is rumored to be released for Verizon in Q1 of next year, so it is likely to be released near your upgrade date.

I have been debating on whether to wait on the iphone or to get a droid, and I will probably get a droid as I am honestly just not an Apple girl.

I had been debating for awhile and decided to go with the droid. I am so glad that I did!! I have heard from many people that have the apple iphone that the droid has much more apps that are available.
I would highly recommend the droid 2,as it has an actual qwerty keyboard as well as the touch screen.

Goodluck!!

I love my Droid phone! I have a Samsung Fascinate. I know people who are waiting to see if VZW gets the iPhone, but I like my Fascinate better. The HTC Incredible and Motorola X are both great droids, too.

I've got all kinds of Disney apps on mine.. wallpaper, puzzles, a Mickey clock, wait times app .. even an app that counts down the days till my next trip! I have that one right on my front screen!

We have the HTC Droid Incredibles and love them! The advantage of the droid compared with the iphone is that the droids can use third party apps whereas the iphone is apple apps only. You will have a lot more to choose from with the droids.

I am also w/Verizon and currently have a Blackberry Curve, which I like. My upgrade date is April '11 and I'm planning to get either a Droid 2 or the HTC Incredible. I had been hoping that the iPhone would be available on Verizon by then, but as PP stated, I have't been an Apple girl up till now and don't feel the need to start now.

I have the Palm Pixi Plus and really like it. It is pretty small still and still has all the functions of the other smart phones. It has lots of different apps too. One thing I REALLY like about it, I got the charger back and the touchstone so my phone charges by being placed on a stone insted of having to plug it in (only cost me about $30 more at the time, but the phone was free).

I plan on using it as a wifi hotspot at Disney as I am going to school on-line and need to have internet access and don't want to pay what Disney charges.

I just switched from an iPhone to a Droid Pro because of coverage areas. No complaints so far! My brother has the Droid X and my parents are planning on the Droid 2 because of the keyboard (as a pp mentioned). The Droid Pro looks more like a blackberry but has a keyboard as well -- just smaller than the Droid 2. The price nearly gave me a heart attack though.

My line was a new addition to my parent's plan, and I was eligible for the "smartphones talk free" promotion (saves $9.99 a month with an eligible smartphone -- you have to have the $30 a month data plan though). Worth asking about. :goodvibes

Do you have to pay the $20 per month surcharge to use your phone as a hotspot? I was looking at that feature since we have 5 phones on our family plan.

Yep.

I have the droid X. Verizion wireless has the largest coverage area in terms of square miles, ATT&T has the largest coverage area in terms of population. For my dollars, I want the largest coverage area in terms of square miles!

Will they have an iPhone? Not sure. But having been a huge smart phone person for years, I can tell you, aT&T is not the only one having network issues, Verizion Wireless's network is getting slower too!

when I purchased my Palm Pre Plus (which I LOVE!) there was a promotion that it came with free use of the mobile hot spot. Do not know if that is still going on but I wouuld ask!
