I waited years for Verizon to get the iphone and I can tell you I am not disappointed at all.
It is everything that I anticipated and a whole lot more. I had an ipod touch and I thought that it would just be like that just with a phone but it is so much more.
All the fear mongering about not receiving phone calls when you are surfing the web is not true, the calls always come through AND if you are surfing the web while on wireless you can use the phone and still surf the web ( not that I actually do that, just something I discovered) I have lost calls but that is because DH was doing something bizarre as he was learning how to use it.
I just love the convenience of the camera and the video. They take pretty good pics/video and if you want to email or post them to facebook/
youtube its just a touch or two. Anyone can do it they make it so convenient ( my parents are loving this too as they get to see their grandkids in video form They live in florida and we live in the midwest so they miss a lot of activities.)
The apps are excellent and you can really customize your phone to your own liking. ( Angry birds anyone?) Dh and I have totally different apps on our iphones.
My address book and calendar are always with me and synched to my home computer so I always know what the day brings. If you get an email or if you are on a website it is super easy to add info from it to either your calendar or address book by a touch or two. Again so convenient. The phone provides the prompts and all you do is follow them.
I used to have a blackberry and I loathed that phone. I barely used it and frequently forgot it at home when I went out. It was a necessary evil in my mind. Now with my iphone it is with me always. I can't imagine not having it and I have had it only a month.
The only thing that could be a bother occasionally is that you cannot use facetime unless you are on wireless. The 3G network will not let you but since facetime is such a rarely used function for me outside my home this does not bother me. It is really cool though when DH is away on a business trip.
I say two enthusiastic thumbs up, especially if you are an apple family as it just fits seamlessly into your life.
If you have anymore specific questions feel free to ask and I will try to answer them.
