Up at the crack of dawn 5am YUK. We leave our hotel and are off to JFK. After standing in a very long queue with countless irate Americans we go through security and get on the plane pretty easily. The flight was pretty pleasant, can't remember how long about 4 hours I think. We get lots of free drinks and buy ouirselves breakfast.

We arrive at LV and I can't believe it, we are right behind the Strip! Not 30 or even 10 mins away, right behind it! We get off the plane out of the door to the gate and there in the gate are loads of slot machines! I know at this point that we are def in vegas!!

We arrive at Circus Circus mid afternoon and after unpacking, napping and showering we head out to explore the hotel. The first thing that strikes me is the size of the place, it is just enormous. we need a map just to find our way round. There is a circus ring, 2 casinos, an indoor theme park, restaurants, bars, shops all in our hotel. The swecond thing that strikes me is how busy it is, absolutely heaving. we begin with the buffet!!! I love American buffets they are just amazing. The weird combinations of food you end up with on your plate!!! It was only about $8.99 and was really quite good! we then wandered through the theme park and the casinos before retiring for the night.

Day 5. We start by heading to the ELVISARAMA museum as we are both fans of the king. We see lots of cool stuff, cars, outfits, letters etc. we also see a tribute guy who I have to say was pretty good. After that we meet an actress who worked with Elvis. She said that all the women want to know what it was like to kiss Elvis!! She said he was a VERY good kisser but also a lovely guy.
Next, the mesum shuttle bus took us to the MGM Grand and we saw the famous lions there. We wandered over to New York New York and had some lunch there. At the end of the day we went in the Imperial to see the car museum. Simon was very excited by it, I had a little sit down at this point! But I did walk round some of them over 200 cars on the top floor of a hotel, madness!!!!

That evening we went to Jimmy Buffets Margar.... (can't spell it!!). It was a real laugh, people on stilts, and the woman who explodes from the volcanoe, don't know if they do this everywhere as we've never been to one before. I have beef fajitas and a frozen Bahama Mama. Simon had ribs, as usual! He's addicted to the i think!

on the way back we catch the volcane exploding at the Mirage.
I am so ready for bed by now and my feet are pounding! The strip is much longer than I expected and obviously the summer heat (105-110!!!) has taken their toll. A very good nights sleep is had!!!

Oh, I so want to visit Vegas! DH has been (albeit about 20 years ago) and stayed at Circus Circus like you Verity.

I fancy the Luxor myself, did you see that one at all?

Oooo Vegas Baby - you did some great stuff Verity - the trouble with Vegas is that it's sooo ogod damn big you never know what to do first LOL

I liked Circus Circus we visited the Steakhouse restaurant there - and loved the food.
