Verify Cancelation policy please

I want to just make sure I am right about this. I have a ressie for Dec 1 - Dec 9. The points that I am using are for a contract with a Dec. use year. So, my first day of the stay is the day the points would come due. I have waited patiently for airfare to drop......but it hasn't. If I end up canceling 31 days out, nothing will happen to my points, right? I never think about cancelling but I refuse to pay so much for airfare. We are going again in January so I won't have to wait too long to get back. Thanks!

As long as you cancel 31 days ahead, the points will be returned to your account like you never made the reservation.

As a recent thread demonstrated, it's 31 days from the START of your reservation.

Thanks Debbie and Dean! I was fairly certain of this but I wanted to make sure, just in case. Hopefully airfare will drop and I won't need to cancel.
