What exactly is a navigators verandah?
Which catagories do not have a transparent verandah railing?

Also, any ideas which elevtaors are less busy?

Should cabins above or below any areas in particular be avoided?

thanks!

If you go to Barbs website
www.castawayclub.com she has pictures of the different verandas. The plexiglass verandas are cat six and above -however there are some far aft ones that are still metal. They are on Barbs website too. We found the aft elevators less crowded, however we did try to take the stairs most of the time to burn some of the over eating calories :)

All category 5 and 6 cabins that are behind the navigator's verandah rooms(cat. 7) have the metal rail, not the plexiglass. All the 5 and 6 rooms in front of the navigator verandah rooms have the clear railing.

The navigator verandah's are the same size as the others, but enclosed with walls except for a large open porthole cuthole(Magic) or an ovalish shaper cutout on the Wonder. The have fixed furniture and nautical themed touches. There are a couple of navigator's verandah's which are not that style though. They were 5 and 6 rooms, but have a metal beam across the plexiglass opening. They reclassifed them as 7's b/c of the bit of obstruction. The numbers of those are on the website listed above.

I love the verandah's with plexiglass and aft is my favorite part of the ship (yup, that walk up the stairs after dinner is always a MUST!)

Plus it's only a short walk to the Mustering Station!

I can tell you I HATED our room on the 8th deck. It had a plexiglass verandah which was really nice but the noise from the 9th deck was impossible at some times! During the Nassau party we could hear everything in our room with all the doors closed. I dont think I will EVER stay on a top deck again....hearing running kids, chairs scraping and the sail away party all night long was too much for me! If I had paid for a suite and heard that I would have been anything but happy or if I had been on the ship more than the 4 day cruise I wouldnt be happy!!!
We rarely used the elevators because they were slow and always busy and we worked the food we had eaten off but I would have to say the aft elevators (the one time we used them) seemed the quickest!
