Veranda or not

I had originally booked a cat 6 for the week of Thanksgiving - we decided that maybe we should wait a week and save some money - I then changed from a cat 6 to cat 8 - I fiqured that we probably wouldn't use it that much and a friend of mine had experience with next door neighbour smoking. (I am very smoke sensitive) and that would ruin my veranda experience. Well I really thought about it for a long time and decided that it would be better with no verhanda. DH would be even happier if I went down to cat 10. By the way - going down to a cat8 and leaving on the 27th of November saved almost 3000 dollars! (more money to spend on the spa and fufu drinks daily)

I think it all depends on what's important to you & makes you happy in regards to a verandah or not. We've only had verandah rooms & absolutely loved them! If you're into pictures & videos like we are, those sunrises & sunsets right from your stateroom are priceless! Looking forward to our 7 Day Western this July!! We got a free upgrade (category 10 to category 6) to a cabin with a Verandah, and we used it to death.
I figure, according to the brochure price, it would have cost us $1600 more for that cabin for 4 of us than for the same sized cabin we had booked without one.
It wasn't worth $1600 in my opinion. I WOULD pay $200 to $300 more to get a Verandah, but not anymore.

We did not have a verandah on our first cruise and it was fine. We have had a Verandah on every other cruise because my wife really enjoys it. She loves to just sit out there and listen to the ocean and sip her coffee. I would say if it works in your budget and you think you will use it then get one.

I do know if we had not paid the extra for the verandah I am sure we would have one more cruise under our belts. That would be another way to look at it.
