I know there have been threads on here about people liking Vera Bags for the parks. If you are in need of a new one, check out your local Vera Stores tomorrow for the Birthday Celebration. I just bought a backpack, the "bookbag" for our upcoming trip and noticed it's on sale for half the price today and tomorrow, so I called the store and they said to bring the receipt in and they will honor the lower price. Also, they have $20 off backpacks and totes, along with buy one bag and get any one half off. (different time slots offer different promos).
Hope this helps someone needing a new park bag. Or two;)

Wanted to add, the bookbag pricing is available online as well! I have no clue if they will run any of these other specials online tomorrow, my flyer says in stores...but ya never know!

I saw the sale today too. I decided on the Mailbag, and bought it a few days ago. I wish it was on sale. I saw that if you sign up for VB's email, they send a coupon for $20 off. I used it for the MB. Today I broke down and bought the xl duffle. I have a small one, and love it.

May I ask why Vera Bradley bags are popular at the parks?

May I ask why Vera Bradley bags are popular at the parks?

I honestly didn't realize they were, until recently. I got to thinking about how the ones I've used in the past seemed heavy, or the straps on a sling pack I've used was very uncomfortable, and the Vera bags are so lightweight to begin with and comfortable usually to carry, that I started looking for opinions on the boards and found out a lot of people seem to think this way and do use them in the parks. They wash nicely as well.

I have bought 3 different sling style backpacks for the parks and think every one of them is uncomfortable. So I'm back to the drawing board and going for a Vera backpack this time. DD7 loves it too, so she can use it as her airplane backpack, as it's lighter weight than her school one, and I'll empty it to use for the parks.

I love the crossbody hipster style. It is lightweight, roomy and has strategically placed pockets that holds everything I need and more!

I think the core appeal for these bags is threefold: 1) lightweight; 2) washable; 3) v stylish w/ lots of prints and sizes to choose from. Oh yeah, and they are pretty reasonably priced even when they aren't on sale. I bought the Hipster and am looking forward to using it in the parks next week and leaving my former too large, too heavy and too hot DLand backpack at home.

A friend of mine went to this tonight and won the grand prize -- private "birthday party" for her and 10 friends (that would be me). They close the store on a Sunday night just for you and give you some $$ to spend! Too bad it's after my trip!
