Vera Bradley Large Duffel

I usually put my hipster in my duffle bag. Then the duffle goes in the overhead bin. My backpack fits perfectly beneath the seat.....as long as it isn't overstuffed! I have never had an issue doing this. I'll most likely be bringing my LL Bean rolling duffle in addition to my VB backpack. The LL Bean bag fits perfectly in the overhead. My 3-1-1 baggie goes in the backpack, along with my iPad mini and anything I may need during the flight.

So a PP said the weekender fits under the seat (if you don't pack it too much. And you can also take the large duffle?? I didn't know you can bring both. I want to do this!! Are you sure that is allowed??

One carryon and one personal item. Personally, I think both is pushing it unless you are calling the weekender a purse. Check with your airline.

I have used a Vera Bradely Weekender as a personal item multiple times and it has never received a second look. Just make sure it is not full and that every bit of it fits underneath the seat in front of you. I hate checking bags, so try to do carry on only. I've carried a 22" carryon for the overhead and then the VB Weekender as a personal item for under the seat multiple times on American, Delta, and Air Tran and never had a problem. In fact, for my WDW this past May I used my VB 22" mocha rouge spinner in the overhead with the matching Weekender under the seat. Then in Sept I used a maroon Kipling rolling 22" in the overhead with my Very Berry Paisley Weekender under the seat. Just make sure it will squish so that none of it sticks out from under the seat and you'll be fine.

In Sept my Weekender had a small laptop in a VB case, a VB trip kit with meds and VB contact lens case, VB wristlet, my Kindle in a VB envelope, another VB envelope with paperwork, my tiny MP3 player in another VB contact lens case, cell phone and camera in a VB tech case, VB medium cosmetic bag with two pairs of sunglasses, a pair of folding reading glasses, and a pair of regular glasses, a VB Home & Away makeup bag that held my GPS, GPS holder, and charger, a small VB cosmetic bag that held other chargers, a small white noise machine, a bag of granola, a gallon bag of homemade bath salts, and a folded VB sarong that did double duty as a swim suit coverup and as a light blanket in case I got cold on the plane. Then in the outside zip pocket of the VB Weekender, I had my 3-1-1 bag, another quart bag with my Vicotza pen, needles and small contact lens solution bottle, and a mini M&M container full of quarters (TSA always has problems figuring out what the mini M&M container full of quarters is on their scanners, so I make it easy for them to get to it). Even with all of that, the Weekender was barely half full and I had no problem stuffing it completely under the seat in front of me and just put my feet on either side of it or on it. In case you can't tell I'm a Vera Bradley addict and always travel with alot of it. lol

Yep, I can see you are a Vera Bradley "addict". :) I check my luggage and have one carry on in which I put everything like purse, fannypack etc. in. Stuff like my camera/Kindle Fire HD is not going into my check bags. I have to give people credit for wanting to lug stuff through the airport. I don't happen to be one. :)

I'm usually the same. But I really want to get to the Dolphin as quickly as possible, so will have carry on only. Of course, that will mean that I have to sit and cool my heels for 25 mins, waiting for the bus. On the other hand, if I check my bag, and have to get it at the baggage carousel? I'll walk right onto a bus.

What bus takes you to the Dolphin? RE: checking bags. I say this without any intention of insulting anyone. I used to carry on everything and then realized I did not like being a "pack mule". I used to fly out of Bradley or TF Green, both relatively small airports, but my shocker came when I hit MCO the first time and I swore, never again!!! The one carry on that I used now is heavy enough, lol, I cannot imagine more than one. But, that is just me and I certainly respect other people's opinions and if it works for them, it works for me. :)

In addition to my Vera bags I have a couple of 22" spinners that I like as carry ons (sorry I like having choices when I'm packing, so have a variety of carryons to choose from every trip.:rotfl:). If I'm carrying one of the spinners, I just slip the VB weekender over their handle put the VB handle over and even with the spinner handle and hold onto both at the same time with the same hand, leaving the other hand free. Spinners can easily be wheeled through the airports with ease. You can pull or even push them with just two fingers. I usually just keep mine even with my side and just push it along, with the VB Weekender on top. I'm a light packer, so love doing carry on only, plus I don't have to worry about the airline losing my luggage or waiting for luggage. If it's a cold weather trip, I may have to check a bag, but always hate doing so. I like knowing my stuff is safe with me and I love being able to get off the plane and going straight to the rental car and the fact that when I get home, I can go straight to my car without having to wait around the carousel for my luggage.

The Mears shuttle...could be a bus, could be a van. The jury is still out on whether or not I'm going with carry on only this trip. I wear the backpack, and the LL Bean duffle rolls, so it's not bad at all. My issue? Going to the ladies room!! When you're traveling solo, it's a pain to drag those bags into the stall with you!!

Hint - try using the handicapped stall - more room!

Well, there is that! Never really thought about that.

Yep, lots of people do that. However, getting to the last stall can be a challenge if you have a bunch of people in the restroom. The restrooms on the lower level at MCO are just too narrow and it makes it difficult to negotiate.

Thanks for clearing that up. For a moment I thought the Dolphin became part of the ME.
Whatever anyone wants to do re: luggage, works for me. We all have different preferences.

Good for you. :) I use the same luggage and carryon that i have had for years. They work for me and I cannot see spending a bunch of money on stuff that I personally don't need, much less desginer luggage. Clothes, shoes, definitely, but, not luggage.
