Vera Bradley Handbag question

I love these bags. I went shopping with my Mom this weekend & purchase a Vera Bradley Bag. I spent $55.00 the suggested retail.

MIL comes over last night & tells me if the signature is not on the fabric it is not real? It was not even on my radar that it could be a knock off? The signature is on a ribbon on a outside zipper. I hope she is wrong. It is pink & green.

Pink and green? I'm guessing it's either Bermuda pink or Petal pink? If it has a zipper thing, etc, it's real.

After reading your posts I had to go and check my bags. Not all of them have the name on the outside. Only a couple of them do and I have 10. Its funny because the ones that DON'T have the signature are the ones I got at the Vera Bradley Sale in Fort Wayne, and those are the only ones I know without a shadow of a doubt aren't fakes!!!

I have many, many Vera pieces. Of the few that I just pulled out, they all say Vera Bradley on the fabric. But it's very, very tiny. It also has a Vera Bradley fabric zipper pull and a Vera Bradley tag sewn on the inside. I have bought all of mine from Official Vera Bradley retailers. It should have come with a tag attached with a thread when you purchased it. I have a pink and green one that is called Bermuda Pink and one called Petal. The attached tag should also tell you the name of the color.

I can smell a knock off at 500 paces. Can you post a picture?

Thanks for the replies I left my Tags down the shore I'll call my mom. I just took them off & never even looked. I have a Vera Tag inside & on the Zipper.

I wish I could post a picture I was on the tech board last week trying to figure out how to do that. I could not get my pictures to download onto the Dis photo board. I'm dying to post pictures from my trip!

I do not have the Tags I called my Mom. I bought them in a boutique in a antique mall. They had everything even the garment bags.

My guess is that if you bought it at an official retailer than it is real. The two that I have were purchased at Crabtree & Evelyn, an official retailer.

I was going to suggest checking the official listings on the website, too.

The name in the fabric is very small and usually most easily seen down the sides where the fabric is like the "edging" fabric vs. the rest of the bag.

Examples:

On this one, it would be down the sides where the large Paisleys are

On this one, it would be where the flowers are right on top of one another.

I have several pieces in the Petal Pink. In that one, the siganture is in a dark green about every 4th-5th flower along the "up-down" flowers.

There's my petal pink... but i have the backpack. It sounds authentic to me. Which one do you have?

I have this pattern in a taller shoulder bag that snaps . I do not see a signature.
