ventless fireplaces...look cool! Anyone have one?

Isn't that interesting... basically, a sterno fireplace. You learn something new every day.

That sounds like a perfect match for you based on your needs vs. what we have up north to produce heat.

That sounds like the ones I saw on QVC last week.

They looked pretty neat until I got to adding up all the expense of all those canisters of fuel. It could be expensive over the lifetime of the fireplace!

I'd never seen the gel ones but those do look like they'd be ideal for decorative/special occasion use. More realistic than electric without the expense or permanence of gas.

RU-Yes! I think it would be perfect and realistic sounding. We don't need heat, although I would like to think if we sat near it we would feel at least a little heat.

TC-Yeah, those canisters are awfully expensive, I agree. And I don't want to have to "budget"" the fire to only times when we can devote our attention to it..I want it just *on* in the background, throughout the evening. So I need to think about this.

Colleen-yeah, I have never been that impressed with the electric models.
