venting on a procrastinator

I tried to tell her but my sister waited. She seemed to not even hear me... I told her Liberity Tree on Thanksgiving was near impossible even 90 days out, but she actually tried for it TODAY ... don't know if I should laugh or cry... so we are now going to eat a meal in our room for Thanksgiving... not a bad idea really, just frustrating. I could have handled all the ressies months ago, but instead I was calling this afternoon. All we have are a late Le Chef and really late Hoop dee doo (which ruins Fantasmic) and Crystal Palace, and a breakfast at Tusker. Those late times are gonna be terrible with three little kids, not to mention the huge gaps... we have no clue about lunch any day (it's gonna suck), and there are still two dinners left hanging, guess I'll call tommorow to see if anything is open for hmmm anywhere. I keep saying my mantra of "don't look a gift horse in the mouth", but why didn't she just let me handle it if she was so busy!?

How frustrating, especially when it's on a holiday, and a major food holiday at that!
As the PP mentioned, just keep calling back and maybe something will open up. Another thought if you will have your own car is to look at restaurants off property. A lot of the major hotels have Thanksgiving buffet meals, too. I means leaving the theme parks, but might be a good change of pace.

If you have a good sized group of folks, try splitting up into two tables. For example, a table for 8 can be tough to come by since there are only a few of them at each restaurant. But, two tables of four may be much more doable...especially if you're willing to be seated 10 or 20 minutes apart.

I agree with the poster who said rent a car and make your plans elsewhere. You can always cancel if something comes through, but at least you're not having a Thanksgiving feast in your room!

If you are on the dining plan and need to eat somewhere on site maybe you could try and see if some non-park places have an opening. Like Wolfgang or Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. Or maybe Kona at the poly we really enjoy eating there. I wouldn't give up. If I was you next time I would go ahead and call and make the ressies you can just put them under your own phone # because better safe than sorry I always say.

You could also try the Concourse Steakhouse in the CR

Hey how about the Garden Grill in the land at Epcot it is kinda like Liberty Tree but you get Mickey instead. Just an idea.

I would try to find a dinner at a resort. In my experience, I have found that these book much slower than park restaurants.

Well some good came from another call. I got Hoop dee doo changed to a different night and got a late lunch in it's place. Now there is only one mystery day, and we are out of TS credits anyway. Of the five places I'd planned on originaly, we got three... considering how late it is, I'd say that's a victory.

Couple years ago, we got last minute ADRs at Portobello Yacht Club in DTD and had a fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Doesn't hurt that coming from an Italian-American family, we always have spaghetti and meatballs and eggplant parm along with our turkey and stuffing for the holidays anyway. They had their standard fare and a special Thanksgiving menu as well. Good luck!!
