Venting...need some pixie dust!

tell them that they can visit "the holy land experience" when they are down there if they think disney is anti-religious. apparently it's a theme park based on the bible? i think it's located somewhere in orlando (they showed it on the duggar show at one point).

HAHAH I have actually been to the Holy Land....if I remember correctly, its actually on the opposite side of I-4 to the Mall at Millenia :)

While it was interesting in parts, I still laugh at it HAHAHAH

I'm sooo sorry you have to go through this! Everyone is supposed to be happy for you when you get married. Unfortunately, some people's worst sides come out during the wedding planning process...go figure.

One of my dad's old friends used to have this same perspective of Disney when their children were born. They said they would never let their children know Disney or Disney movies (Gay days was mentioned). Absolutely ridiculous. Now the kids are 10+ years old and recently I've heard they've been to WDW on more than one occasion. Hmm, interesting. Sadly, though, some people will never get out of their bubble.

The best you can do is express your sadness that they feel that way and move on. There's no sense in stressing over someone else's pigheadedness...is that even a word?!

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you. :grouphug:

haha. it was the only thing i could think of to help out a little! :rotfl: it seems like something that someone who doesn't like disney for religious reasons would like?? however, it's not my cup of tea, so i'm really not sure...

but they said that didn't like that Disney had the Gay day in the parks..

I doubt they will hear logic but Gay Days is not a Disney sponsored event. It started with a small group of people and has grown considerably through the years. But still, it is not an official WDW event. If it were, believe me, Disney would be marketing the heck out of it, just like they do with any other special ticket event (think of the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for example). Disney, being a business, is not going to turn down a large gathering of people who want to enjoy their parks.

LOL. Umm. Woooow. Not laughing at you, but those are some sad, sad people there. I have an extremely Catholic family and we all love Disney World. I know some people are ridiculous enough to get angry at Disney for gay days when they don't even sponsor them, but finding such people just makes me happy I'm sane, no offense.

Forget them. Why have such negative people there anyway? His wife sounds like the Wicked Witch of the West or something...

haha..After we got past the whole shock value of it, all we can do is think how incredibly insane this whole thing is, so laugh away, because I'm right there with you! I mainly just wanted our niece to be there, but I guess that can't happen. I feel the worst for my fiancee, he's an extremely laid back guy that lets nothing bother him, but this seems to be eating away at him more and more each day. I found a website that they were using for their "source" of how Disney is evil. At least I'm pretty it has to be because I've found everything that they said on this one site and it was one of the first things that popped up when I googled it. It even says Michael Eisner is evil, which is what my FBIL said, but come on now, he's not even associated with Disney anymore. I almost want to make up a fake website with a bunch of ridiculous things on it, and send it to them, just to see if they actually believe everything that's written on the internet. I mean all they need to do is think for themselves, instead of getting everything they are saying from a source that came out when Gay Days first originated in the 90s.Again the whole thing is insane. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thinks so!
