ok.. so we decided to head back to Disney in May the whole cruise and disney plan... Can't wait... till half of our family invited themselves to join us. SO ANNOYED!!!!!!!!!!!! So much for a quite family trip just the three of us.

Anyway.. down to my question. Because there is now 8 of us going. Someone said that we need to split up our dining reservations - that they can't accomodate all of us at the same table. I can't find this anywhere.

Someone please let me know.

Thanks

It depends on the venue but there were 12 of us and we were seated together at some places like Boma and Park Fare and were split into two tables of six at LeCellier and a table of 4 and 8 at Akeshurus.

Not true at all. It may be more difficult to get a reservation but we got everything we wanted in 2009 with our party of 8. We had to move some days/times but got everything.

Thank you so much. Also i'm reading that parties of 6 or more are charged 18% service charge is that bascially the tip automatically added on.

Thanks everyone!

We were there last week as a party of 8 and sat at the same table for every TS.

I've done prior vacations with 17 and 11. We have been seated together except a few places where they seated us at side by side tables.

With a party of 8, make sure you do a meal at the Biergarten in Epcot/Germany: ALL tables there seat 8 (and if you don't have 8 in your party, they seat you with other groups to fill up a table). You're a perfect fit!

As others have said, probably every restaurant at WDW can accomodate parties of 8 or more. But if you are having problems getting an ADR at a specific location, try splitting your party into 2 groups of 4 and seeing if you can get ADRs for both at the same time. Then when you check in just explain that you are "really" one group and ask if they can try to seat you relatively close together. Bet you end up next to each other a lot of the time.

And do suggest to the group that for at least a few meals you split back up into individual families and go your own ways, so that the 3 of you get at least a little quiet family time.

We're a party of 11 for our upcoming trip and we were able to make all the ADRs we wanted, except for one (Tutto Italia). I tried online. I tried calling the regular dining line. I called trying the restaurant itself (on the advice of the regular dining line) who said they had NO availability for the entire month of December 2011 in JULY. I gave up. Then I called the IPO (we're staying CL) and the CM said, I see exactly what your problem is: Tutto only takes ADRs for parties of 8 or fewer people. Then he made us 2 ADRs at the same time and said it wouldn't be a problem.

TL;DR The 2 reservations work-around for large parties is one that was suggested to us by a Disney CM.

I'm going in January with a party of 10 and I am not making any dining reservations for all of us together. There's no way in hell all ten of us will be touring together. Everyone knows each party is on their own. If we happen to be in the same park that day, we'll probably join up but our tastes and experience levels are way too varied to all stuck together all the time. We will range in ages from five years old to 82 years old and in a wheelchair. Impossible to keep everyone happy.
