I totally get that.. I'm in the lucky place where my best friend doesn't do drugs/drink, but it seems like the normal thing to-do.

Me?
Well, it doesn't seem like something I'd do, but I've never been to a party...
Sometimes I'm sure I'd do it if I felt accepted, sometimes I think I'd be stronger, but it feels like I'l never know.

Sorry this has just been bugging me for a while..

Does everyone here go out and get drunk/take drugs every weekend?
Didn't think so.

So why does everyone at school have to think I'm such a loser for not liking alcohol? :/

It happens all the time. Like today, my 2 best friends and I were talking about this party we're going to. They were all "Omgz I can't wait to get sooo drunk!" and I'm all "Uhh I think I'll stick to the coke" and then one of them was like "Why?" and I was like "I don't like alcohol" and you should of seen their jaws drop and give each other this look. They were like "HOW can you not like it?" And I was like "I don't like the taste to be honest. And I'm not gonna drink something that I don't like the taste of... I'd rather drink something I actually like." And they were still looking at me like they were thinking 'omg what a loser'.

Ugh. Just annoys me sometimes. Like most of my friends drink/do drugs and some of them seriously think I'm wierd for not going out every friday and saturday and getting completely wrecked. D:

Woah that wasn't meant to be that long haha.

teehee the bolded phrase made me giggle a bit... out of context it would seem very opposite of what you were actually saying. :rotfl:

but anyways good for you for sticking to your morals. :thumbsup2

its more fun being the sober person .
you get to watch all the drunk people make a**'s of themselves and maybe even record it :D

lmaoo

hahahaha katie xD

but yeah. I definitely would stay sober, because of what Ellie said, also. Because I want to have a good time and remember it the next day. And I don't really like alcohol either. It's just one of those things where I'm like, "Ehhh. You go ahead. Knock yourself out. [Not meant literally hah]" y'know??

I completely get you.

I'm only 16, but I have tasted a sip of wine and a sip of beer, and lemme tell you...

You'd have to pay me millions to get me to ever tough my lips to a glass of alchohol again. I hate it, it even smells bad.

And if people think I'm insane, or immature for not drinking, then forget them.

And you should just ignore them, they want you to drink, so ignore them.

We have a good amount of those losers in our school!! My one former friend (dont hang out with her much anymore) is totally like that and she totally does it to attract these loser guys! My advice is find some other friends to hang out with that dont do these things, but still be friendly with ur current friends. Good Luck and Good Job sticking to ur morals!!

Thats how this town is.

Everyone goes out and gets wasted every weekend. THANKFULLY, my parents raised me right and I know better than that.

I've surrounded myself with the few people who don't drink, or who do but knows that I don't. So they don't judge me for my decision.

My boyfriend doesn't drink, but his friends do. That scares the crap out of me. Not that he'd drink, cause I know he want.. but the fact that he's around them kind of people.

Occasional drinking, I have no problem with. But it's going out every weekend and getting totally drunk that bothers me.

Hang in there, don't feel bad or let people make you feel bad for being a good person!:hug::hug::hug:

I have bad experiences with drinking so Im done for a while...Im more of a soda addict.

Thank God that girls think that me not drinking is cute...lol Just more attention from girls for me...lol

I feel the same way. I despise the taste of alcohol. Sometimes my parents complain about me not liking alcohol O_o Although, when I went to Madrid with the school in June-July, I was the only one not to drink any alcohol, and nobody seemed to really care. Sure they questioned why I wouldn't and they didn't mind. That was nice. A couple even walked back with me to the hotel when I didn't want to stay. Sure they went back to the pub, but still, it was kind of them.

It's wrong of them to judge you like that, if you don't like it, you don't like it. Let them go and make fools of themselves.

I'm only 13, so I've never had alchohol before, but I've smelt my parents wine before and it made me want to puke. Same with beer. I can't even smell it, I doubt I'll ever be able to drink it :]

There are a lot of people at school like that, they talk about how they get wasted and are basically proud of it.

Nobody pressures me into it though (or has even asked me), me and two of my friends are very straight-edge?, I guess would be the word, people. One of my best friends has had alcohol before and she totally regrets it and hates the fact that she did it. (Her dad was an alcoholic and her mom has problems with it) Most of my friends that I know of don't hang around drinking, but I don't know everything either.

It gets annoying, listening to those people but it doesn't bother me too much since I have no part in it. :)

A few of my family drinks and let me tell you something, that is the worst smell ever besides cigarettes. Gross! Why would I want to drink something that smells like that? lol.

i don't drink.

no one ever really bothered me about it though. i just said that and they were like "okay, cool." (and i'm talking about talking to people who were 16/17 going to frat parties at several different colleges. )

drinking and drugs were really common at the high school i went to. drugs like heroine, meth, and cocaine.

so i never did any of that stuff, and i never really got hassled or pressured about it. :confused3

I find guys that don't drink way more attractive then guys that do.

I've never dated anyone that drinks. I'm not going to put MYSELF in that situation.

I'm not gonna date someone who drinks excessively, and ruin their teenage years, and possibly mine.

People around me are pretty accepting of people who decide not to drink.
At parties there's always a handful of token sober kids. They just end up being the drivers. No one bugs them about it.

I don't drink, and I have no interest in it. I just think it's so stupid and a waste of money too. :) It feels like that is all some people care about doing when they go out. :(

I'm 22 now, so it's really awkward when people want to go hang out at the bar or someplace like that after work or school and get a couple of beers or shots with me, and I always go for the Pepsi instead. Most people in my life at this point know that I am not a drinker or smoker; I'll hang out anytime, but if it's something I might regret later, I'm out. My reputation and my future are too important to risk over temporal things like a beer buzz or a high. Thankfully a lot of people have joined me on that side (it's been my opinion for a very long time), so I have a large group of friends who are fine, upstanding, and generally fun to be around!

Bottom line - I applaud you for sticking to your position, even when it's not popular. I've been down that long road before, and I can guarantee that the people who matter will respect you all the more in the long run. :cool2:
