Vent about Tiffany's (what would you do?)

I bought some wedding gifts from Tiffany's online a year ago.

Instantly, they put me on their catalog mailing list. Immediately, I emailed and asked them to remove me as I do not want to receive catalogs of any kind (wastes paper, wastes trees, postage etc) when I can buy what I need off the internet. Less cluter in my house and less trips to recycle catalogs.

They said they would.

They didn't. I received catalogs for 8 more months. I emailed again on August 4 and requested again, staing that I had already asked once and had already been told that I'd been removed. Once again, they emailed back and said yes, yes, of course, they could remove me.

Again today, I got a catalog.

Any advice? Has anyone else had any dealings from their company? If they can't stop sending me catalogs when I've asked twice to be removed, I will definitely stop giving them my business.

Always go "up on level" or two when calling. Ask for supervisor or manager. The first answering people have the least power to get something done.

Tell the manager you want to be a customer and want to support them even further by reducing their printing/mailing costs but are getting frustrated. Then be sure to ask for "a little somthin" for your aggravation. A 10% coupon at least!

Well, OP, I am soo glad your vent was in reference to their CATALOGS only.

My DS has spent quite a bit of hard earned money on his "absolutely rock his world" DGF's jewelry from Tiffany's...from necklaces, bracelets and just recently a lovely ring (not engagement) but very exquisite ring. She as well as he, is absolutely thrilled with Tiffany's and their quality. They go several times a year to NYC for the weekend and a trip to Tiffany's is always on their list.

They have mailed her jewelry back and forth to get it cleaned/shined/buffed several times a year. Always comes right back in a timely manner with no mailing problems at all.

And I think in the last two years, DS has received ONE catalog.

ETA: I was just GLAD, OP, your vent was re: the catalogs and not the jewelry. :goodvibes

the people who I bough the wedding gifts for said mine arrived just fine but about have of what they registered for from Tiffany's arrived shattered.

I'm not saying it's Tiffany's fault and they got everything replaced. It could have been the delivery method. But if half of your registry arrives broken, I'm thinking you aren't packing it well enough.

I have no problem with them -- I just don't want to receive their catalog.

I don't think that is limited to Tiffany's.

I had glasses shipped from Burdines (used to be THE Florida store and now it is Macy's).

I took it in exactly as I received it--completed with the stems (broken) sticking straight up.

They did replace it--but they defeated the purpose of my guest having it shipped to me.

Every time you receive an unsolicted catalog/piece of mail from Tiffany's write:

"RETURN TO SENDER. DID NOT ORDER - DO NOT WANT ON THE MAILING LIST, PLEASE REMOVE MY NAME FROM THE LIST."

Put the offending catalog in the out box at the Post Office.

I'm just thinking what a great bunch of guests that wedding had if they could register at Tiffany's!

BTW-- no suggestion on getting off of mailing lists. I gave up a long time ago. Try buying something from Victoria's Secret...

Do this! I used to get credit card offers from the same company twice a week. I started writing in black sharpie all over the application "Send no more, Do not want" front and back. Took about a month and I haven't received one since.
