Vent about PIN codes

just enjoy your trip and try and forget about the pin

like all Moms say "life is not fair" boy I hated when she would say that

Same here with the pin situation. I got the stay,play and dine one last year after our first stay and got the 20/30/40 last night in my email. I was about to just book our trip without a code and be done with it, then here came the email. I know people that get offers all the time though and I just can't figure it out how they do it.
I agree there is no rhyme or reason to the way it works and I can totally understand your frustration. Hope all works out for everyone.

No pin for me.
I've done everything I've read on here to do in hopes of getting this pin, but nothing.
I called today for the first time to ask about a pin attached to my name, and I was told there is no pin for me, but don't let that stop me from booking my full priced package today. I just politely said no thanks.

I was hoping I'd just get some sort of code so I can book and then just wait to make my ADRs and have fun thinking about my vacation.

I have also done the tricks with no luck but I have randomly received pins at various times. However for us I like to keep my eye out for the general public deals as well as (if you have one) the disney visa promotions. For us those work out better than any pin code I have ever received. I have never used the pin because in the end I saved more with a general public deal or a visa discount. So keep an eye out for that and remember to have a great time planning and not let things stress you out. The vacation will come and you will have so much fun and then there will be the next trip to plan!!

Just wanted to remind everyone. a year or so ago I wasn't getting any Pin offers and I called and spoke with CM and they said I was marked to not receive promtional material. The CM changed that and right after I started getting PIN codes. Also I ordered the personalized maps and I really starting getting PIN after that. I do know I have 2 emails on file with disney I no longer use one of the accounts because I never got offers at it but when I set up the new on I got more offers so that is worth a shot! Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone gets a Pin Code they can use!!!!!

So, about how many months in advance do the public codes come out? I'm just debating on making a full price reservation now and then applying a code, so that I can make my ADRs. Will they let me do that?
When we went in 2005, by the time we booked, all the ADRs we wanted were gone because of free dining (which I didn't know about and paid full price for).

I have never paid full price but I also book at rack rate and then I always get a pin and I call and have them apply it to my room...if you book at full price far enough ahead they will prob end up sending one because you will be in the reservation system...every single time I have booked a package they end up sending me a pin before my trip.I booked AKL (2 rooms) CL for Dec 2010 last week..a 6,000 trip at full price BUT 2 days later I got a 40% pin good for most of 2010 and knocked it waaay down.I would not wait to book if you need a certain time period because the room may not be there.
