I accidentally posted this on the planning board earlier Just wanted to move it.

Are you getting you vendors thank you gifts? or tipping them? I was set on it but now I'm struggling with ideas for gifts and when I presented it to DF he said "we're paying them...why do they need gifts or tips?"

Just looking for opinions and ideas. Thanks!

Whether or not you gift/tip depends on the status of the vendor. If s/he owns the business (as cosmetologists and photographers often do) there is no need to give them anything because they get to keep all the money. If s/he is an employee (cosmetology assistants, photography assistants, musicians, DJs hired thru Disney, drivers, and most Disney personnel), you can give a tip or gift for exceptional service. But you certainly shouldn't feel obligated to tip.

We tipped when we were exceptionally pleased. This included the Rolls Royce driver, town car driver, hair & make up, dress steaming, waiters (extra), and the caricature artist. I gave our WP a gift certificate to the spa at the GF. I should have done something for the DPS photographer from our wedding but didn't get around to it. The servers at our dessert party were exceptional too but I don't think we tipped them.
